I'll only install the EQ because I don't have an SSL EQ (only full channel strips), but the best reason to get it is the fact that owning everything will probably entitle you to some nice discount in a newer product (supposing they come out with something you want). The plugins are easily pirated, though, since it's only serial protection as they made by Kiive's Eddie. So I guess it becomes more about not immediately pirating the next one (even if for a while).

 

Very serviceable plugins and for £2 a total no-brainer buy.

He'll actually make a lot of money out of this deal - earlier today he posted that he had 1500 people on the site at that time. If that was every hour that's 36,000 in 24 hours or in other words £72,000 (plus tips). Keep that up for 7 days and he can probably retire...

 

the discount code got me, i have sympathy for this developer now i will most likely don't use those plugins, but i got em anyways..

btw. i recently uninstalled uad from my computer.. image you are in favorite daw, in creative nirvana.. suddenly popup appears blablabla updating uad.. i hate that. i had only pultec collection and their free synth anyways.

 

What happened with your other installs? I have UAD stuff, plenty of it accrued over time, and I've never had a problem with them not working in their current native uad2 iteration myself....

I just open the UAD software for the occasional "check for updates" (doesn't happen often as @clone explained well in another thread), or add new licenses....

Perhaps it's because I keep my licenses on a physical iLok or machine authed (forget right now), but I'm stuck in the iLok word regardless due to other devs like Soundtoys and Eventide etc so while I know people don't like iLok (and I can agree on many fronts as to the why, so not entering debate on that or saying anything in that regard), ... I just certainly don't use their cloud version as my work system is always offline (at least certainly while working)....

 

yea, i was very surprised when i saw that popup.. i use melda, ni etc. and they all operate in usual fashion - you check for updates yourself. expected this same from uad connect. anyways i only had some free uad stuff (pultec eqs, which are great, and their free synth which i do not use), so no loss for me hehe. ilok driver (no physical dongle here) stays on my drive for time being, because of some other freebies i got

 

Planning to purchase even if im not going to use them as much...maybe the reverb. Who knows.

Also, for the website being down, Sam Pura (the founder) said they're trying to get it back working, and still honor the sale.
