" AI writes a pop song in 4 seconds."

    So what!!!

Actually, it doesn't write, it calculates, but it doesn't think, and it has no emotions or feelings. Besides, AI costs electricity, which we all ultimately pay for. Some songwriters will probably be out of work. AI is faster than humans, which is why we invented all these machines to make life more bearable. I tested AI songs myself, but I didn't think they were that great. I'd rather leave it to humans or write it myself...!

I don't see a problem with Ai. It's a tool. I use in my work. It's doesn't do everything for me, but I use it as part of my work, mostly to generate ideas. It's quite good at that.

This is the problem, and what I hate most about machine learning.

Instead of helping with the technical side of things and carrying out grunt work, it is replacing creativity - what's the point of doing music if you let the software come up with ideas for you? THAT is the fun aspect of music making.

Totally right, must add it is replacing creativity where there is no creativity.
And here comes the raw truth:
99,9% of promotion, photoshop, marketing, social media managing etc etc

Let them playing big money biz and decay in a depression state soon or later.

True but does trap banger beat number #22344 made from construction kits has any emotion? Or yet another "put yo haaands up" festival EDM? Or yet another edgy metal song hit about death and darkness with cliché overused metaphors?
I am not defending AI slop but only just a small fraction of music has actual emotion behind it. You can make emotionless songs without any feelings and it will still sound good. It's possible. It's possible to generate good AI songs. Problem arises when the person who prompted it says "I created it!!" and feels creative accomplishment. Now that's mental illness territory.

The entire history of music, with all its LPs, CDs, cassettes, and MP3s, has been going without AI for decades. Most of it today is trash; anyone can upload their music; there's no quality control anymore. Music is also a business. You can't cook a four-star meal for €1.50.

    i am not angry.

it actual soudns great (interesting lyrics and wonderful radio melody) and it would do well in a generic spotify playlist for the consumers to listen to.

They did really well on training the model.
And totally, most of the radio music, sounds generic -- just like the sond in the short.

And i mean, if Spotify allows such AI music, they wouldnt even have something bad on their platform? no loses or anything.

maybe im wrong with the number but neverless its a huge number - there are around 700 hip hop releases on thursdays in germany most of them generic and soulless, i wonder what counts will arise in future with AI....

I find this AI song thing creepy and clearly damaging to various artists (and if not to the artists themselves, then to the masses who suddenly think, "Oh, anyone can do that"). But it's also the other way around. For example, you use AI for fun or from experience, and suddenly people say, "Oh, it's AI again," and it isn't AI at all. Furthermore, I generally consider this very dangerous; we don't know what we're running into here, "the devil we summoned."

But generally, I remain open-minded and objective, so I have respect for it, because my brain can barely make in 4 seconds just from the thread topic: " AI writes a pop song in 4 seconds." this:

" HI Cop Porn Party in 4 seconds."
(With a lucky punch that comes a bit later "POPCORN" hm yummy)

The trick is to find the one band with quality talent and ideas among the 700 tracks. I believe that very good bands approach labels and get a contract there, or the labels approach television to get a contract there. Live concerts and radio are also a way to ensure that quality continues to reach people. I used to read a lot of fanzines and listen to interviews on the BBC or Grenzwellen, and then I would order music either from a record store or through mail order.

That time has passed, and I'm a fossil of the past. Anyone too stupid listens to 99 percent garbage. The worst thing in our neighborhood are young people with cars who blast their crappy music, the same monotonous boom boom with singers who can't sing – probably out of revenge or to distance themselves from us. Music is something completely different!

Who's going to listen to all that? All producers are fighting for the listeners' attention...!
Learn more and make better music, otherwise your music will end up in the trash.

It is war on humanity. A clever war where you present the weapon to the victim and the aggressor as mutual tool of progression. It's about money first.

But music is art, and that WILL NOT change as long as real musicians exist. The business is a difference science and will change often. IF you're in it for the business, then Ai increased the business failure rate.
