I checked this function and it doesn't work for me either. I have the SMT_057_Drum_Machine_SP.vstsound. It is not a must-have (for me), but it's interesting. (R2R 14.0.32, Win10)

    I only have 058 and 059.

Maybe the 057 is the missing peace ✌️

    where do I get it?

Well, I don't know where it is on Mac, for me it was in the path described by Samsum. 058 and 059 are in a different place, in the program data folder, but this information is useless to you. Anyway, the situation is getting more and more interesting, because 057 was not registered by the library manager. I was surprised. I was sure that registering it would solve it, but unfortunately it didn't. I'm going to restart the computer, but it probably won't work. This whole story is very interesting, because apart from that, (R2R) Cubase works perfectly.

Edit: after the registration, 057 was also added to the program data location next to 059. (058 is not in the same directory as these two, but it is also inside the program data folder.) It doesn't matter, because as I wrote, this didn't help. The activation manager always wants to log in when I want to load a layer. It works with other samples.

    Very strange then

Mine was not registered in Steiny Library Manager either and still isn't.. It just works when it's there and doesn't when I remove it

I think it should be installed along with Cubase 14 really
Do you have a Drum Machine [Folder] in any of your Steinberg folders?
I can send if you like via message.
Edit: I've sent you a message with link
Yes looks like 058 and 059 are part of Drum Machine too (not sure when they got installed) but they are on a different drive with all my other Steinberg Content

Good to know. Since the library manager can't unregister this, it can only remove the whole Drum Machine thing, it stays there. :dunno:

Edit: As I wrote, I'm fine without it, but I'm really curious if there will be a solution to this or if anyone else will come up with this problem, because it's really strange.

    My 057 is in: C:\Program Files\Steinberg\Cubase 14\Components\Drum Machine.bundle\Contents\Resources\VST Sound
My 058 shortcut link is in: C:\ProgramData\Steinberg\Content\VST Sound
    (links to D: Steiny Content)

Yes, I have the same picture, (except that now the program data also has 057 due to registration. :bash::))
(Drum Machine is registered to the default location because it's not big, but most of my larger stuff is shortcutted.)

This guy at Steiny Forum said that the:
    SMT_058_Drum_Machine_Presets
    SMT_059_Drum_Machine_Samples
are all part of Drum Machine Vol 1.iso and think he is right as the date on mine is today and only installed Drum Machine Vol 1 today.
SMT_057 Date is 23/06/2025. I installed Cubase 14.0.32 on 29/06/2025 so looking like it was part of that main installation or/and the additional content you get with R2R

You can get that from here:

I already had Drum Machine Vol 01. 059 and 058 were registered from the iso file.

Any Drum Machine Folder in any of your Steinberg [Folders] with Contents/Resources/VSTsound [Folder]? I would maybe install Cubase 14 again and any additional content from R2Rs download if not in your own Mac versions

We can drop R2R Content>VST Sound [Folder] to
    C:\ProgramData\Steinberg\Content\VST Sound
    in Windows

and then just open Library Manager and let it scan for any duplicates or I think you can double click each one and Library Manager will probably open hopefully and install that way.
The drag and drop content never worked for me that r2r mention in their .txt file.
I definately would not install to my Drum Machine Folder but the files maybe related in some way.

Thanks to everyone here who has contributed.
    Many thanks to SAMSUM.
    Unfortunately none of it helped.
But before I set up my system from scratch, I would like to ask all the Apple Mac users here in the forum. If they have such problems with the drum machine in Cubase.
Dear Apple Mac users: Can you drag the standard default sounds (kick 1-4, snare / tom 1-4) onto the pads and load them into the Cubase 14 internal drum machine?
I would be very grateful for numerous answers.

If you ever find out what exactly causes this, please post the answer here. Although I use Windows and I don't get a "beach ball", but the activation manager panel, I think the root of this thing is pretty much the same in both cases.

No worries... By the way you don't drag the default sounds as that will not work for anyone, you select a pad (on the 4 x 4 pads) then select Kicks (top row with left mouse click), then select one of the 4 x Kicks (bottom row with click not drag) and it will transfer to the pad... same with the layer section you select the layer first before clicking on what default sound you want .
You can however drag your own samples from Media [tab] (Right section) or Mediabay/Sound Browser.
    Hope you all get sorted.
