Im on the M1 Sequoia with Ableton 12.2. I just installed first time an HCISO copy. No matter how I try, it keeps crashing right after the app interface seen. I tried standalone, AU and VST3 versions, same error. Ableton keeps crashing when I try to load plugins. Is this a known issue and how can fix it?

 

I would say it is a known issue, yes. ChatGPT mentions it being a problem on M3 Macs, but that could just be what users reporting the issue were running. There should not be much difference between M1 and M3 on the same MacOS version.

For optimal performance, it's recommended to use VST3 plugins instead of VST2, as VST2 is no longer officially supported in newer versions .discuss.cakewalk.com

Make sure you already codesigned it if needed, and you could check permissions with Permissions Reset 2 or BatChmod. If nothing found there, the above is basically all that is left.

If you want Ableton to just stop crashing, go into your plugin folders and move the plugins somewhere else.

 

Thank you for the reply. Im not sure If I put the right code. I just copied the usual ''sudo codedesing force deep sign'' code and it looks like it succeed. Also I run the batchmod and all R-W-X options enabled for all the users and in the options ''change ownership...'' is enabled then I apllied. If those settings are right, then as you mentioned its probably a common issue. Thank you for sharing by the way.

 

The only setting you did not mention in BatChmod is the very bottom left corner checkbox that says Apply to All Enclosed.
That way it sets those same permissions recursively.

You can also use Permissions Reset: https://ohanaware.com/permissionsreset/. Does the same thing, basically.
