Somebody in another thread tried convincing me to test out Suno, so I did, but after reaching my limit of generations, I only found 1, of I think it was 20, to be of decent quality that might be worth partially deconstructing and completely recreating and redoing to my own tastes. Which in my view kind of defeats the whole purpose and not something I would ever pay a monthly sub for. So much of it sounds off and too generic to be of any use to me, plus the fact that there is no MIDI on offer is a major flaw IMO. I tried another one (Soundgen I think was the name?) which had audio upload to base from, but that failed miserably. The results were a mix of noise and clunky nonsense.

Anyway, it got me thinking and wondering if there are any Windows VST plug-in equivalents I can test drive over the weekend during some free time I am willing to burn. Any of you lot have suggestions for no strings attached free plug-ins or unrestricted offerings from the sister site?

Suno is launching their Studio soon that will have direct to MIDI feature, so I read. Their stem splitting feature has improved surprisingly well and with the new studio feature, you can send your stems to MIDI for instrument replacement, etc. It sounds good. How good, will have to be seen when it launches.

Suno is cheap and their stem separation and wav formats make it worth. I don't know something that worths the price for the value. Plugins are expensive and if you decide to not use it anymore you lost all the money. With Suno you can cancel and you won't loose what you produced while subscribed.

As for VST we have some features coming soon that will tickle that itch.

and thats the thing right now. You have to pull the slot machine lever of anything AI. Its rare to get things in one shot. Keep generating and iterating. Thats one of the hidden tips for anything AI. Even with writing GPT doesnt one shot things im trying to convey

Honestly, with the Sonible, BabyAudio, iZotope, Fab Filter, IK Multimedia, N.I. and other developers going the A.I. path, sooner or later the plugins will have adapted the ability to do what any online creation can do. It's just a matter of time for the Major players to implement it.

this is probably closest to what you want for now. This isnt the best but its free and uses stable audio v1 models. But it gives you a good feel of what the future might be. Soon all daws will have these features baked in like how FL just did.
