You can email it to yourself on your computer then open the email on your phone and download the attachment. There might be an easier way, I don't have an I Phone. but that way will work.

    Peace,

    iPhone = iTunes.

No way around it considering your statement of :
iOS and iTunes were created for the average... as you say "noob".

Simply drag and drop. It is childsplay even for a "noob" using iTunes.. or go to FILE menu and select ADD TO LIBRARY. Then be sure to SYNC after selecting the MP3's you chose to MANAGE MANUALLY.

On the other hand, those who can muster the nerves to try 3rd party solutions... they are out there - just not so "noob" friendly.

    That is very true.

Another point. Make sure you edit the ID3 tags on your tracks to have at least title, artist and album. That way you can find them easily on your lists. You can edit the ID3 tags by right-clicking the audio file and choosing properties. Also the file should not be write-protected (I am assuming you are on PC).

    Good luck.

I'll give you a decent explanation even though there is probably one million answers for this on google. First you need to hook your iphone to your pc with the provided usb cable. Second you need to choose how it syncs the songs. On the left side of itunes, click on your phone name. In the middle of itunes you should now see settings for your phone. Towards the bottom middle is the sync options. If automatically sync is checked, itunes is going to sync everything in your itunes library to your phone. If sync checked items only is checked, then itunes will sync only checked items in your itunes library. Last option is to manage music manually. If this is checked you have to click and drag items from your itunes library to your phone on the left. This last option is my personal favorite to use because I can't fit my whole library on my phone.

So once you have picked your sync option then you need to have your songs or mp3 loaded into your itunes library. So to add a song or mp3 to your library you can just drag and drop the mp3 from wherever on your computer to the left side top of itunes where your libraries are. Music, photo, video, etc, down the left hand side of itunes. If you can't see anything down the left of itunes, then you need to right click the top bar of itunes and hover over view then click show sidebar. So once your song is loaded into the itunes library you can right click the song and then click get info to edit the songs information, like artist, album, etc. Then once you have edited your song info, depending on your sync option it will automatically sync or you have to drag it to your phone on the left. You can also turn on wifi sync in the phones options so after plugging in your phone one time and turning on wifi sync, then you will never have to plug it in again! You can just sync over the internet.

And iphone can be bad ass, for songs and itunes not so much. But for music apps, out of this world cool! That's why they don't make IK Multimedia Amplitube for any other phone, cause they are not powerful enough!

I have yet to be able to add anything... It's kinda like tracktor and that DRM thing or whatever it's called. So yes, the first time I did try to add some music to my new iphone, I got some kind of error... Prob. because it was my own music I made and not music I bought from itunes. Thanks so much for the help guys, I really do appreciate it. ;)

the most simple and free programs for this i found are iTools and iFunbox.
both have an easy to use interface, let you install/deinstall apps, move mp3s without any hassle, etc etc.

itunes & bonjour installed are a necessity for them to work, though.

    hope this helps.

If you on windows there are many programs that will do what you want
Some is free some cost just google add mp3 without itunes to my iphone and you get 12000 hits

I used copytrans before it needs internet to work but in my opinion much much better then that crap itunes

There are many others like ifunbox also for mac (i use it and it can be used with or without jailbreak)and if your phone is jailbreaked you can access the whole filesystem..

But you need to install a file from cydia to your iphone first called afc2add otherwise you cant see the whole filesystem.

And also if jailbroken and your on windows you can use ispirit
