InMusic are investment, financial management company. Translation: capitalist leeches. I'd stay away from it. In fact, I do. :rofl:All they want and live for is money, more money, and more money. They will do anything in their power to maximise the profit. Everything. Including monetising your data. Better to stay away from them, really. Such financial management cartels are one of the main reasons our society sucks so much these days.

They invested and own majority of stocks of companies like Moog, Alesis, Akai, M-Audio, AIR, BFD, Denon... (here's the list) They may also own Native Instruments soon...

Dude, it's an absolute fucking mess.

Even beyond the browser issues. It's just a mess.

I own a bunch of AIR plugins. AIR plugins use iLok, but since InMusic acquired(?) them, some of the AIR music plugins are available on the InMusic software center app, and require licensing thru the app, but I cant add my existing iLok licensed plugins to the InMusic app, so I cant get installers for those plugins through the app.

    Why.

Also, the app has auto updated itself on a macOS Catalina computer to an incompatible version of the InMusic app, so that I couldn't access my software.

Well, the updated InMusic app probably has features that require the new version of macOS, right?

Nope! Kept a backup of an older version of the app (that you can't get on the InMusic site), reinstalled it on my computer, flipped wifi off directly when booting it up, flipped wifi back on, and I can access and update all my software again.

    Why?

Bought BFD3 on sale, worked fine with on Catalina and Big Sur, then version 3.5 was released.

Version 3.5 requires Big Sur. No problem.

Installed it on one of my Big Sur machines. All good, works fine.

A couple months later I go to install BFD3 on another Big Sur machine... this version of mac os is unsupported! Even though macOS 11 was the listed minimum on their website.

They did a micro update to the software installer to disable it on older OSs. Nothing of substance was added to the software since my last install.

    Y?

Also I have had the InMusic app deauthorize licenses on my mac twice for no apparent reason.

The InMusic app does that shitty thing where it opens your browser to connect to the dedicated installer on your computer.

Oh, also, the "need to connect to internet every 3 months to validate your BFD3 license" Fuck right off with that one. Makes iLok look like the best thing in the world.

Why why why why why why

    Fuck InMusicBrand.

I just had BFD3 3.4 something from VR, working on Mojave or Catalina a few weeks ago. I still prefer other options, but it worked no problem.

I don't need to imagine a Windows user doing it, scroll up a bit. We'll have to just imagine a Mac user explaining to a Windows user how to run tracert.exe in cmd to look at the hops between the user's computer and a specific domain or ping.exe to see if they are even resolving the domain correctly.

It's not hard to imagine incompetence.

the last public r2r release of bfd3 was in 2017 for Windows. VR from 2022. VR Mac, May 31, 2025. It seems like they consider it a dead product and do the bare minimum so it is not called "no longer supported" or "legacy". Yet.

browser tend to have their own adblockers and those can block elments and recaptcha. they can be deactivated in the browsers.

safari usually doesnt have an inbuild adblocker by default.

i thought BFD as software was long time ago discontinued?
