You will not have any problem using it with all those ip addresses and domains blocked. It is recommended to do it. But your problem is not consistent with data leakage past your firewall, because a desired behavior for the developer would be to lock you out of the plugin completely.
I'm not saying it is impossible, just highly unlikely. I think your problem is something else.

What are your OS, DAW and system details like content on external drive, settings.json file edited to match library location? What version were you using when it worked last? Have you tried removing it completely and then reinstalling a fresh copy?

There are quite a few ways you could run into your situation, I just think you would want to focus on other causes than wether it is online or not. You could easily disable your internet and test it while offline.

 

The problem is with your computer, works perfectly for me.

 

Windows 10, Cubase 14, No external drives, The setting files are not edited... and I haven't used Nexus consistently before.

I found this issue on 5.2.18 first, testing with 5.2.17 and 5.2.3 also shows the same problem too.

It occurs randomly, sometimes it doesn't show up for about an hour or two, but sometimes it occurs within 10 to 20 minutes, though I'm not sure about the exact trigger conditions.

And I found a strange thing about this matter. As you know, Nexus has 'Modifiers' tab on its right side of the main window, and there are effectors such as delay, reverb, limiter and so on.

When the issue occurs, if I manipulate anything on 'limiter', then the sound comes back. But the sound does not come back when I manipulate any other effectors. It only comes back when I touch limiter.

All presets have different effector chains, but I noticed they all have a limiter in common.

So I'm suspecting that the developer may have planted a protection bug or something in the limiter, that is included in all presets, so that it can affects all presets.

Someone posted a fix for some of the XPs (Artist series etc) showing up as Folders instead of Expansions under one of the newly released XPs on sister site. I see that it has been taken down by DMCA (duh!). Does anyone have the fix handy and if yes, could you please DM them to me? Thanks much!

The two setting files you mentioned should be updated automatically when you run Nexus 5, unless you have block reFX server with a firewall or the hosts file.

If you've blocked it, unblock it temporarily, so that the setting files can be updated, then block it again.
