In 2023 Acustica Audio got R2R treatment, R2R stated that they are making their plugins buggy and bigger in size just for the sake of over protecting their plugins.

So the question arises

Would Acustica Audio have been crkd if they hadn't messed up with overprotection and storage?

Because previously we weren't seeing any Acustica Audio releases but one day we got 90% of Acustica Stuff crkd.

Also, I wonder if Acustica Audio is still stuffing their plugins with over protection and increasing the size of the plugin.

 

You are conflating some things, and this will probably just end up with a bunch of additional misinterpretations and conspiracy theories.
Read the few original nfo files if it even matters now.

For starters, your memory about this is inaccurate. They released the first batch in November of 2023. They were still steadily releasing them into January of 2024. On the Mac side, many more showed up on sister site at one time; but that was because someone was getting them from a different website and just reposting them. The R2R releases were more evenly spread out, probably because what they were doing was more time-consuming work and acquiring all the necessary files was also an ongoing thing.

Their nfo file mentioned that they had known how to tamper them for quite a long period of time, but they waited to release anything until the time was right for them to do so. (for whatever reasons).

 

I don't get your approach.
Even Reaper has been keygened/cracked by one or another group and I could not imagine software being less/more consumer friendly protected than Reaper.

 

Giancarlo used the notes incorrectly and R2R didn't like that.

 

And he would've gotten away if it weren't for those pesky/meddling ki... pirates.

 

Did he ever fix any of the released plugins after that? How did he get all the old ones to not sound good anymore to his customers? It's hard to believe, but the only ones that are any good now are the ones "no-one else have".

Surely, there is a " I need more stuff " on the horizon.

 

In my understanding of the scene groups cracks mainly for challenge and show off. In that context it doesn't matter what company A or B does to it's paying customers.

they did remove a lot of bloat after the spectacle, slowly going through the back catalog and updating / optimizing. I still think the old plugins are excellent, many of the new ones are too. The synths are quite good, but im sitting out on them until they release a few more and optimize them. They are a bit cumbersome currently. Whatever Acustica is / has been, i know they at least constantly strive for better and better products / sound, so i have faith they will continue to push the envelope.
