This is a meter deeper than my previous priority. Anyone can claim to know notes. But very few people really know what notes are and what you can do with them. Objective taste is the taste by which a person can appreciate the artistic value of something. This taste is created when a person is aware of the essence of music and knows exactly what he wants from music. Today's music is useful on the battlefield or is created for a function other than eternal value. Objective taste is like a powerful radar capable of detecting the intrinsic value of works. Of course, you can still describe it with sentences, but the first step to understanding it is to believe in the notes. Many people don't know the value of the notes and resort to other things to save their music. The objective taste is developed over time and through thought. It is true that emotions are also involved, but emotions are usually fleeting and are not a good tool for discernment. When objective taste prevails, thought quickly comes into play and the appreciation of the work of art begins. If someone lacks this taste, he will have difficulty discerning artistic realities.

The songs I like the most, Foster, are accidents. The musicians are clueless, know nothing at all about theory yet it all just works. Knowing the right notes would ruin these songs. That's my kind of music.

But to be serious for a second, I've been obsessed with John Zorn's compositions performed by Rashamin in the album "Masada Rock" (Masada in general is awesome, by the way)

I love klezmer music and seen several bands perform it but this is out of this world. What is this? Jewish death metal agent jazz or something. Really clever and just magical. Love it.

 

Shaggs is insane. Must hear for anyone concerned about music. "Philosophy of the world" is a masterpiece.

 

You will not acquire taste through intellect. If anything, a most essential step in the beginning is to kill intellect.

Do you love what you feel.

 

Music lessons would have ruined The Shaggs.

 

I don't like songs, I buy music for the artwork that comes with them.
