I'm primarily an INIT guy but I'm gonna actually second that choice, it's actually one of the only ones that stick in my mind. Perfect patch and endlessly useable.

First I find something that is similar enough to what I wanted, and then edit it until it's more or less precisely what I wanted. I'm not very creative with naming presets. It's an afterthought for me, so I usually end up with:
SynthBass 01, etc. SynthPad 01, etc. "01" because I usually make some variations later so I know what variation of it it is.

Choir 01, Violin 01, ThatShit 01 ... You get it by now, I think.

For some special, more unique sounds, I usually use some funny name. Like "This Shit Hurts", "Heavy Fart", "ButtPlug Hit", "HellScream", "Dying Banana", "Chaotic Sphincter"... as there's usually no nr. 02. Often in the spirit of Metasonix pedals. :)

I must confess I have (ab)used it in 4 or 5 of my songs (and even reproduced it in my Minilogue using noise as modulation from VCV rack or Reaktor) lol

Others I love: crispy arp (rgc audio/cakewalk Z3TA). Theremin patches in Minimonsta. And anything that resembles Richard Wright's moog solos in Have a cigar or Welcome to the Machine (there is one in Monark and another one in Zebra)

That's exactly my approach, which I think is actually more useful than naming things like "Several Species of Small Furry Animals Gathered Together in a Cave and Grooving with a Pict", as once you've created hundreds of patches with daft names it becomes slower to find an appropriate one. I use the same style of naming across all instruments / effects, it's easier to compare then - A "Short dark snare plate 05" is self-explanatory, as is a "Dirty S&H FM Lead 11". Occasionally I'll name something with a fancy name if I'm particularly inspired but 99% of my patch names are dull as dishwater.
