    Check out the screen-capture first.

Both windows depict the exact, completely-the-same, Soundbite... Before the Soundbite was dragged into Sequnce Window, I trimmed its length to 240-ticks. Once I dragged it into the Sequence Window, an extra 10-ticks gets added-on... I don't know why. THen, when I go trim-off the access to 240-ticks (in the Sequence Window), the SOundbite gets trimmed in the Waveform window as well... so now, the SOundbite, although showing a 240-tick duration in the Sequence Window, shows 230-ticks in the Waveform Window. It's like there is some Global setting that attaches 10-ticks to any Soundbite that gets placed into the Sequence window... I checked preferences for something related to this, but could find nothing...

Someone on another website forum, said that I had to create a new Soundbite "from selection" and then drag that into the Sequence editor.. but guess what??? the exact same shit happened... 240-ticks duration in Waveform window, but 250-ticks (or so) in Sequence window..???

What the heck is up wit' dis?? :(

P.S. I know it only 10-ticks but still...

My advice would be, go back to DP 7.24, which sounds like a 32-bit pain in the ass. It's been my experience that every other version of DP is bug-heavy. I figured right away that 8 would probably be buggier than most, because they added a lot of crazy new stuff, like cross-platform compatibility, 64-bit operation and VST. DP 5 worked great, and then, in 6, they added pre-gen and dropped pre-Intel support, so it would up being very buggy. By 7, they managed to smooth most of it out and it's been rock-solid on most computers. If you can hold off until DP 9 (which is what I'm doing), they might end up working out most of the kinks.

Here's what the problem was... The Waveform editor window AND Sequence Window both have their own tempo settings... The Sequence window was set to 125 bpm, while the waveform edit window was at 120 bpm...

    it's all good now..

Been using 32-bit past day or so and everything is working fine (for now)... I've been using Battery 4 and it has been working great.

The shit that was giving constant issues and crashes, was trying to use the MOTU stock samplers (Model 12 and Nanosampler) with my own samples... Any samplepack didn't matter... What I had been using was various drum hits from Audioteknik... so they were not some odd sample-rate/bit-rate crap I made myself... just a normal samplepack dl'ed from Sounds-to-Sample...

Model 12 or nanosampler would just fuckn keel over once i drag a sample in... I have no idea why MOTU made such a shitty temperamental set of devices... It's like, I open ableton right??.. and BAM BAM BAM!! I can drag sample in from anywhere, doesn't matter what sample-rate/bit-rate or anything... whether I drag it into the Arrange window, Sampler, Simpler.. doesn't matter... it just WORKS!!

Anyway though, got DP8 workin for now so that's cool
Plus... I own DP8... bought it last year... messed with it for a bit on my PC... tried Ableton for 2 hours, and with out time to think Ableton became an extension of my body... like no other DAW has before... still amazed at Ableton...

You might be asking yourself... why switch then... if it aint broke, why fix it?... part of this audio-production passion (for me) is trying other DAW's as well... they all (or most) have their own "inspirational quirks" and I don't know, I just like to change-it-up... pretty soon I'll be well versed with 4 DAW's of choice (Ableton, DP8, Logic, PT).
