Wasn't sure where to post this. But in sales everyone's selling softies "bump this and that", so i decided to put it in comp hardware.
So, i have access to some older nvme Intel ssds, DC P4610 @ 7.68tb. They are nvme gen3 U.2 drives, so sticking one of them in your desktop pc, will require an m.2 to u.2 adapter and a mini sas SFF8639 cable (EDIT: Some adapters may require an SFF8643 to SFF8639 cable). Most m.2 to u.2 adapters come with the cable built in. These drives are nothing particularly fancy in performance, not too shabby either (max 3200mb/s read/write), where they do excel is reliability, rated at 3 full drive writes per day for 5 years.
Important #1 : These are sealed, brand new drives with 0 hrs of operation. No receipt or warranty avail, but you can register at Solidigm (ex-Intel ssd dept) with the drive's serial i guess.
Important #2 : Check for yourselves, Ebay sellers sell the 3.84tb equivalent drives for about 450-500 dlrs minimum. I sell the 7.68tb drives for 300 euros. There's over 20 of them atm, 4 i'm keeping for myself. Anyone interested leave me a msg. Product page is here: https://www.solidigm.com/content/da...0/documents/dc-p4610-series-product-brief.pdf
    Cheers
PS: These won't stay avail for long as the price is crazy realistically speaking. I won't be putting these in Ebay, but i have a couple of other specific in my country sites where they are listed too.

In case anyone wonders, this is how they come brand new.

10 pieces left boys and gals. This is one of the best ssds for recording/editing, since its endurance is much higher than consumer ssds. Just don't say i didn't tell you so later. :)

Yes they are. It is the enterprise way of telling you that they give you an 8tb drive but you get a 7.68tb instead and the rest of the capacity is kept hidden for ssd provisioning. The drive's rating guarantees 3 full writes and wipes of the drive (EDIT) daily (i forgot to say how often) for 5 years or 2 million operating hours. Something that is impossible to make it happen even if you record/overdub/edit all day and all night on the ssd. This drive will practically last for many years on a desktop/workstation machine. It is a bulky 2.5" drive weighing about 150 grams. It is has a thick, all aluminum casing/body, good luck overheating this puppy, no way hehe.
Man, we might not know each other in real life, but we 've interacted in here many times. Demand is somewhat high in the computer tech marketplaces i'm in, because the price is crazy since this is a sealed drive. Still, i am thinking i will keep 2-3 drives for friends, fek my cousin (pro composer) also wants one haha. So if you want one, lemme know and i will keep one for ya, np 3 weeks or one month is fine man. Whatever i can do to help out, no worries.

Also if anyone's interested, to spare you from looking for the correct adapter solution, if you think of hooking it to a normal mobo, you 're going to need an M.2 to U.2 (SFF 8639) adapter. Which is something like this:
    https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005008756597525.html?spm=a2g0o.productlist.main.8.34511d47riXXTq&algo_pvid=74d65378-dc9d-4b04-a044-43bb22549ceb&algo_exp_id=74d65378-dc9d-4b04-a044-43bb22549ceb-7&pdp_ext_f={"order":"1","eval":"1"}&pdp_npi=4@dis!EUR!27.43!15.63!!!30.69!17.49!@211b680e17503648396734676eaa2f!12000046537061643!sea!GR!0!ABX&curPageLogUid=PCtNlASKXESY&utparam-url=scene:search|query_from:
M.2 goes to your mobo's m.2 and the drive goes to a 2.5 slot in your case. The two end connectors of the cable go to the drive. In case you are wondering, yes the drive is powered(!) by a sata connector which you will have to also connect to your psu and the other connector is the data pci-e gen 3 connector (also known as SFF 8639). Actually it takes much longer to write about it than actually do it. Connecting is very easy, cable is 0.5 mtrs if i am not mistaken which will be fine in 99.9% of the pc cases in the market.
I bought one here in my country to test the drive initially, it costed 50 euros and i did regret it as it's practically identical as the one from AliExpress. So i ordered another 3 from AliExpress for the same money i paid for one. Supposedly the one i bought is Delock which is a respectable brand but in fact this is an OEM product. Startech has the very same one too for 60 euros lol. Most likely one factory in China makes 'em all and OEMs buy it put their logo on it and expect us to pay many times the original price. Wtf.
    Cheers mates

I'm interested taskforce, I'd be using on apple silicon in an adapter imaginably which from quick read (sorry, running about!), seems doable.... hit you up via pm/dm or whatnot for location of link?

    thanks man..

Sure mate. The adapter i posted is platform agnostic, a generic nvme pci-e adapter from m.2 to u.2, so i see no reason why it wouldn't work with Apple Silicon. But these Intel drives i am selling are also powered and i don't think Apple Silicon machines have a way to provide old school SATA power, but perhaps i'm wrong.
So if i am right for your case, i am aware that ICY DOCK has a Thunderbolt 3 to U.2 adapter that works and will make your 2.5" Intel nvme drive external. This adapter provides both power and data connection via 2 Thunderbolt ports. This also can be relevant for laptop users and pcs with a Thunderbolt 3/4 or USB4 connection. Here (If you scroll down you will see on their example an Intel U.2 drive haha):
    https://global.icydock.com/product_297.html
I am just not sure if this is on sale or just a concept. As the actual product i see on sale in various shops incl. Amazon, is a 10gbps and not 40gbps adapter which will practically bring the speed to 1.5gb/sec max, whereas the drive is a nvme gen 3 ssd with 3.2gb/sec read and write.
Tremblet makes such an adapter too but it's a case and comes with quite a hefty price:
    https://www.trebleet.com/product-pa...fF26aAN4h10k0gfkFgmi04VMgmqBaQOh-w-qzT7ETIvZ5
OWC make a dual Thunderbolt to U.2 enclosure. Again hefty price but this one takes m.2 drives too, can do raid too and seems a damn sturdy one.
    https://eshop.macsales.com/craftcms...Lfl4kxcXTJtecANwWgGD1eDUK2w5s85lo8gZJZPnWnW5W
There's also this one in Amazon
    https://www.amazon.com/USB4-Enclosure-Compatible-Thunderbolt-SFF-8639/dp/B0DSVM2M1H/ref=sr_1_1?crid=2Q2GW8GIPKM3B&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.NVstG8G192YybQ98ZUY-pJURtoxb-xzZiSlxAwMPZxWlmx8O5AhA4cdQqbDJDYG_vyA61YUIOcTMKh7z5LvqX8bzo4z4UWRzewEqG9tJbXPt0ibEGdGz24oOJomS53GW9SI6ck7GihzZzmlfj5axSoAFvJi_hl8vXoeryYu_5DbzW76lJBsiA_ZG8hmEWsyVvjBYyNpvGrXEK4Sc7C9sD4o4vHysLyW7pXlTBsHE-VDkt7lfhHyVyHRwJcG1n0APOcCxrwlQBKo9ha8vx7QrK4jpngSNIQH0ROSpPHlzLjU.XfBFQK6M1yFIDgho46-jCR7wnkmBIOQB57bz39h5DXU&dib_tag=se&keywords=Orara&qid=1750371389&sprefix=orara%2Caps%2C204&sr=8-1
If still interested, hit me up with a pm and i will provide you with all details, np.
    Cheers
EDIT: There is also another solution for connecting such a drive to Apple Silicon but i find it cumbersome. In any case: https://abart.pro/en/blog/company-n...p03SicTay8O7oi5pFWPEAZ8SOy4Hjq5DkHYM2ocEouSZ5
The page is useful anyway because it lists drive compatibility, and the Intel 4610 7.68tb is included.

EDIT: From all the choices for the Mac, i really prefer the OWC one personally. For 279 US you get a sturdy box that can house up to 8 nvme ssds, including two U.2 ones. Chances are that street price is even lower for the empty OWC DIY box. Given that they sell the same enclosure @ 16tb for a whopping 2499 us dlrs, grab the empty box and a couple of drives from me and you are off to the races with the same capacity (and i can argue even more reliable drives) for a fraction of the cost hehe.

I am all the way down in Greece. It's so fking hot now, all this global warming we 're quickly becoming from Mediterranean climate (which was supposed to be mild and only hot during mid summer) to sub-tropical lol. So i guess i keep one drive for you?

Oh and you can always get a normal pci-e to U.2 adapter card and connect this Intel drive to one of your mobo's pci-e slots. Need to be careful though because with modern mobos, bifurcation may or may not apply, a single drive needs a "x4 electrical" pci-e slot, pci-e gen 3 minimum for full speed. Check your mobo's manual and specs to be sure. There are also such cards with dual drive support, they accordingly need to be hooked to a "x8 electrical" pci-e slot since they are supposed to hold two ssds. A note here, I say x4 and x8 "electrical" because the physical length of the pci-e slot is irrelevant unless of course it's shorter in length than the card you want to put into it.
In my experience, most modern good mobos on both AMD and Intel platforms, include at least a second full length pci-e slot that when connected with such a pci-e adapter card, the mobo will drop the main x16 pci-e slot (the GPU one) to x8. No harm done unless you are a keen gamer of triple A titles or use your GPU to train AI. Some other mobos include a x4 pci-e slot too, which is convenient for a single drive solution.
