As requested, I was asked to host this incarnation. TWO MONTH TIME-LIMIT as told for submissions

While the picture tells the story, it seems commonplace that there is a poetic short story attached to the imagery to give you the composers some kind of backdrop to write from. I will do my best to make it as inviting as possible.\

THEME "Face your fears"

BACKDROP:

To let go of what we fear seems so easy to say.
Perhaps in a fleeting moment we believe it is nothing insurmountable that can keep this fear at bay.
Should we do the extreme or simply dismiss slight of hand?
So do I face it it in jest or stupidity, or is it misplaced courage that demands?

To let go of the past is no simple task for some,
To face that fear indirectly, when we lose something we love.
Do I walk the thinnest line, or perhaps just bide my time?
Or do I take a leap of faith, and let fate decide the design?

To surpass the greatest flaws we have, and owning it is hard.
From point A to B in in the crevasses, navigation it certainly demands.
It's easy to riddle in metaphors and add extreme to the simplest choice;
I just remember, that the most important part is to truly find my own voice.

WRITE AWAY!!! It can be any style, any genre, whatever mood takes you. You can go into a cryptic interpretation too, or a tangent, or whatever takes you. Just let the listeners know where you went basically.

I have done an electronic ambient with real fretless played in bass. . I look forward to your creative adventures.

@Somnambulist i missed that at first but hes right, it would be better if you make one, one as part of tradition

it also makes more sense in selecting the next host and picture. also for others schedules in regards to keeping up with the non-contest, its more convenient to have a set date. one for creating, so you know the time frame you have but also for knowing when the next one will start - its better for others to have that information, i know its useful for me in regards to my schedule

Give it a name and tell us something about it

 

i called it contest 12. i made it in ableton 12 suite. the intro sound was made with ni circular. bass is ample y. drum is superiors rooms of hansa. piano is uad ravel, there's some sonic digital's kick3 , and dc snares. the whole song is in D. nothing special, bit of jamming/recording. bit of guitar might have helped. 7 tracks, uad comps, live's delay and rev on aux, bit of shadowhills A and CGII on the master. mono under 120hz.

 

well i made another john wick style beat to this one, wanted to use some kontakt libraries that seemed appropriate like the clock thing i downloaded and will never use again probably. the song maybe starts out at the beginning all tense cause hes about to start walking over the canyon, then when it changes its kinda like "yay im doing this!" then goes back to realizing there's further to go. one step at a time!

i used kontakt libraries mainly meant for movie trailers haha, le gibet for that cool distorted lead, some serum 2. big sky hall reverb. ran the bass, synth and drum bus through the oto boum i have, then the master bus through that too. then i attempted to process it further using probably too many plugins and its still not that loud its like 11 lufs but whatever loud enough. can you hear it? good enough!

 

@macros mk2 .. I got a kontakt high from listening to your apt piece reflecting on the harrowing stroll across the canyon while balancing on a wire. There's nothing nonchalant about it. Also, it's plenty loud enough even at a mere 11 LUFS. Soundcloud compresses it to 14 anyway.
