    @johnmusichead
This is nice to hear your track, to me the sound is kinda electric and well polished, dark side and confusion are present for sure.
Very nice work and thank you for joining this friendly non-contest:)

@johnmusichead oooo i like this, reminds me bling era hip-hop from the 2000s and Memphis rap, especially that phasing synth refrain; super Memphis and a little horrorcore (though a lot cleaner tones). after that first sample drops i feel like i could rap to this

im just livin, not worried what their talkin bout
diamonds in my mouth glisten like im from the south
    triple digits, whippin NASCAR routes
shes not trippin she just wanna have me around
these summer nights are a gaslight
if i flip the switch its like im in a past life
where i have a trad wife phat ass playing bagpipe
    instead im in a cullinan
    shes in ferragamo humming this

lol its very rap-able and i dont even rap like that, the beat is just perfect for it. also reminds me of when i was a kid the nightclub ads that would play on late night TV. as a standalone i like it a lot, im having a hard time imagining it in the scenario you mentioned though. i dont have vertigo but from what it looks like it seems like it would be hard to balance, having your rhythm thrown off, where this piece and the rhythm is really balanced - i like it though, very nocturnal and has a nice sense of rhythm. i could definitely see this playing on independent radio - great job and welcome back

Very interesting, excellent production, experimental & creative at the same time, sometimes less is more and this track is a very good example of how you can say a lot in music with a minimalistic approach, especially when scoring to picture, where there is a lot of dialogue :like: :keys:

Wow, a very nice composition! I like the intro with the strings pattern bringing another, then the "strings blank" at 45'' is a great way to stop and restart the momentum. The choir at the end add a dark and majestik touch before the drop.
Truly great work, thanks a lot for your sharing :thanks::wink:

I had an alternative ending in my head. The evil won, luke died... represented by the whiny voice of an Roland Alpha Juno-1. Had to use some voice material of the original scene, I guess the Star Wars franchise take things easy regarding copyright :bleh: other ingredients: more juno, a moog bass, some kontakt strings, many short samples & glitches mangled together.

It was fun, doesn't give me Star Wars vibes though ... so I invented a story of me having the idea of an alternate ending in my head.

@9ty Very good piece, I like the star wars sounds in the background.
The dark side won, everything we knew is now over, and your music brings the right melancholia.

yo whats up @SpyFx ✪ ✓ ! good to hear from you and have you back, hope all is well fam :mates:

i really like the energy in your interpretation, very frantic and anxious but also has this feeling of power and strength. especially as it progresses and the drums and choir come in, pure muscle. also has a good sense of rhythm, which is so important in music. from the string staccato melody to bass and overall groove of the piece, it makes it more menacing and moving in a way that really matches the scene imo. its a nice more modern and fresh approach to scoring and so far my favorite of yours, nice job

Finally and in under the deadline.

Acoustic guitars, Fender Squire Jazz Bass, my horrible single hihat played with brushes, live playing of sampled drums in Xfer Nerve, my favorite little shaker, Arturia Polybrute and Uhe Repro-5 synths, Microtech Gefell UMT70S mic into Neve 1073 preamp into Audioscape Opto compressor for all captures. On the software side there's a John V Fircomp2 on just about every track and also a bunch of Klanghelm scattered around and Presswork on the main vocal. I finished it up with TDR Limiter °6 and "mastered" with the gentle, sexy curves of FabFilter EQ, Presswork and Brainworx bx_limiter True Peak.

    edit: Forgot the harmonicas

@Lois Lane shot clock Lois, you made it with seconds on the clock - nice job homie, very indie rock. i especially like when the synth comes in during the bridge, that texture really adds a nice color to the arrangement throughout the rest of the track. the song also progresses to the outro in a really smooth way and that whole outro part in general; it has this very strong sense of overwhelming dread at one point that i love. that whole part sounds like him falling down the tunnel and is really well done. great job overall

@Lois Lane You made it in time!
I really love the vocals and the bass line, synth part brings something new.
Love the synth end that nails the psycho aspect of the scene to conclude.
Bravo, huge piece of work :thanks:
