Well, we knew it was coming, and here it is. Fucking scary. This is a great reflection on it.

And don't get me started with the porn possibilities. Bye bye, OnlyFans... ahem... models?

Yeah. It's the 'ordinary' stuff that's scariest... like the vox pops and lip sync improvements...
clever but, at root, deceptive by design.
    Is it to be
fools R us or get ter feck wid it?

It will definitely fool us in the mid-term. But the real problems are:
    1. Lots of jobs lost
    2. More believable malicious deep-fakes

    yea it's crazy

but at the sime time I ask, why would anyone want that in the long term, I mean, just as with music or articles, why would any human want to bother consuming such content any longer beyond that wow moment,
let's assume the main driving force is Ad industry, and to be clear I don't give a fck if company spends 500K on Ad or 500 on Ad I still use Adblocker and won't buy useless stuff I don't need,
and speaking of porn, yea it's already there, pretty good, can't share, definitely better than any OF/PH stuff you can imagine because there are no limits, but again what's the long-term benefit? I honestly don't know anyone who would watch porn 24/7...

It's easier to say what AI cannot do. err... errr? ;)

It can do anything, everything you can come up with. Yes, even procreate.

So right now AI could create new Beatles music from analysing their back catalogue and render live video performances of them playing the music. The owners of the Beatles music would never let that happen of course... Or would they?

That's exactly the point. I want a real extra hand more than artificial intelligence. I want a real extra leg. In real life, you need more hands and feet than intelligence. But can everyone afford a real robot? I even want a robot that combines hydrogen molecules with oxygen to produce water. Water is more important to me than artificial intelligence.

Good question. Was that not in the news last week, regarding Trump/Elon plans to enable AI access to existing creative works from even the biggest names in music? I think it was connected.

I saw Elton John was having a rant about it. Funny how we are only expected to raise an eyebrow now Elton has opened his mouth. Given he is Sir Elton, not sure he will be rocking the boat too much for the establishment. Unless he wants to throw that Knighthood in the trash and come back to the light side.

Xupito Bro, it's been a long time since me and other persistent voices have been saying that AI's situation is going to get crazy. Do you remember when we talked about this and people said it was extremism, unnecessary worry, blahblahblah?

In one of the forum conversations, I had already mentioned the situation where an art director tried to hire a sound professional, and the agency director said: "—No complaints, man. You're getting 50% of the fee because the music will be generated by AI, and I also cut the video budget by almost 50%, also because of AI."

So, in advertising, it's already happening. The owner of an agency, who acts as a Creative Director but was previously involved in hiring copywriters, art directors, cinematographers, music composers, visual designers, etc., sees the quality that AI can deliver and wonders: "—What percentage of cost reduction does AI provide me today? Do I really have to hire that bunch of people?" Not to mention the tragedy that deep fakes will cause (destruction of reputations and dissemination of misinformation; frauds and financial scams; emotional and psychological manipulation, etc.).And so on…

The worst part is when you talk about regulation, and exploitative opportunists start clamoring for their freedom and individual right to explore this type of content freely, without restrictions, against any form of censorship and control of freedom of expression (to defame and slander freely) and economic and business regulations (labor or tax rules are seen as obstacles to exploitation). It's just disgusting...

The point is that humans will increasingly take on a different type of labor: raw material production, specialized manual work (consider that, in certain places on the planet, hiring human labor could even become cheaper!), AI supervision and improvement (my brother, a radiologist, is already reviewing complete reports generated by AI), and social interaction and personal services (therapy, coaching, and personal assistance). And those who don’t fit into any of these categories will receive a 'generous' Universal Basic Income...

In the western world, at the beginning...
Sweden has just set the age of retirement to 70 years old. How will people work longer with less and less jobs available? Instead of giving a basic income to the useless to consume things produced from resources which will become more and more rare, it is almost certain that the number of worthless hungry mouthes will be reduced by many means...
A lot of options were imagined in the XXth century Science-fiction books. I'm afraid the guys now in charge have read them too and think this cautionnary tales were in fact some kind of an user manual for the future.
In fact, the present looks already like a mix between several dystopian novels.

A little very insightful video I just found on YT about AI. Last couple of years has been very weird from many different aspects, the worst being economic crisis, wars and AI - computing revolution, but it's only the beginning. We're in for a very bumpy ride in the following years. :(

I've been studying AI for quite a while and decided to try and profit from it somehow myself. It's a kind of "gold rush" right now.
Board the train now, or miss it forever. Like the Internet bubble at the beginning of the 2000s.

And films like Elysium, Equilibrium, 1984... I tend to think the rich elite, the "chosen ones", will isolate themselves somehow from the rest of us and leave us to rot, like in Elysium, but they don't need to go into space. They can do that easily here on Earth. It's not like they couldn't buy a country, a big island, or even a continent (Australia?). Their only worry would be nukes...

Remember Murphy's laws? "Anything that can go wrong will go wrong." Human society have proved many times during our history that this is true. :( I just can't trust humans anymore and it's better to be prepared for the worst, anyway. Less shock when bad things happen.

If I enjoy it, I would consume AI music, movies, shows and porn. Most people would.
That's the problem with jobs, artistic or not.
Nailed it. Give them time... and not much.
