I haven't tried the Boss plugins yet, but it's never true that a top gear manufacturer necessarily has to produce good software: circuits and coding are totally different ballpark. In comparison with the reference gear, Strymon disappointed me, Audioscape too, Eventide meh

And I do recall R2R comments about buggy Vst3 for their instruments, and others negative about CPU use and even the sound compared with hardware, so yeah... no guarantees

 

I use audio units and Mac, never had the PC issues,

already have multiple 3rd party Boss effects that are very good, the should lay the issues of good or not to rest cause their space echo is amazing, I used to think UAD was the best and when Roland realised the original space echo it was embarrassing how much better it was, not just a little but way way better, closer to the real thing and more/ .., Strymon was ok., I like to see dunlop mxr

Subscription pedals, blergh

 

all Roland stuff is subscription, since when did this stop us from obtaining them?

 

Well.......IF they're any good, my hope is that they expand the line. Given their catalog, they picked some meh pedals for this first release. I know the Spectrum is rare....but, sometimes, a thing is rare because it sucks and not many people bought them. I'd like to see them release some of their earlier big box Roland/Boss pedals....Like the AP-5 Phaser, AP-7 Jet Phaser, Bee-Baa Fuzz, Funny Cat etc......it would have been nice if they released the PH-1r instead of the PH-1. Same sound but the addition of the resonance control made it a lot more useful. And a DS-1? Really?? My first dirt box.....dumped it shortly after buying it. The Slow Gear might be rare as hen's teeth in hardware but there are TONS of DS-1's that can be had dirt cheap on fleabay.

 

Are they buffered or true bypass?
