You can listen, analyze your own situation, and are adaptable—all of these
are very good prerequisites for living a content, happy, and successful life.

    Panta rhei (Everything flows)
The phrase panta rhei (everything flows) is attributed to the Greek philosopher Heraclitus.
"Everything is in the process of becoming, in ceaseless motion."
"Connections: whole and non-whole, converging and diverging, harmony and dissonance, and from all, one, and from one, everything.

Thank you i hear what you are saying i would love to get out and do gigs, if it comes down to it i can handle some partying, my problem was that i had no income, if i had a successful job / gigs w / e and was self sufficient i would easily be able to handle the pressure.
Problem is when you have to rely on social welfare and such and being unemployed, until recently iv'e been studying music production at the university and has gotten an bachelor which took me 3 years so i have been focusing on that, now i'm done and are how do you say on "sick leave". It's a bit hard to know what the next steps is so i just continue making music it just makes me feel good.

Im working towards finding a label, hoping someday i will be able to play my music but all that isn't the main goal, i make music for my well being and it works!

Doing something creative is really the best medicine for mostly any mental health issues, small stuff or worse stuff! I've been trying to tell friends and such to start being creative as it is the best medicine that i know of.

Yeah i try to produce a bit like Boris, not exactly but iv'e learned a lot listening to him and he is impossible to copy. I don't want to copy anyone and what i make is always from a clean slate i don't import anything i just fiddle around and that has been fruitful.

Sounds like you have had a lot of fun too :) When techno was on the uprise, amazing!

    Thanks

Making music for yourself and others is a meaningful part of life. The journey is the destination. Look at nature, go out into nature, experience nature, because only nature heals us. Learn to be amazed again, and there is something new to discover every day. If you stop discovering new things you are on the verge of becoming stupid.

An illness that you did not choose can also lead to mental health problems. You have certainly already lived halfway through your life, but you have a purpose and something that your heart is passionate about. Take the matter of publications into your own hands, Bandcamp, your own website, YouTube, Spotify, etc., tell listeners, here I am and this is my own music.

At 38 you are pretty stable and you already know a lot about life and yourself, but you can always broaden your own horizons. What do I want, why am I here, where is the journey taking me, what do I have to do to feel better. When you experience setbacks and fall, you have to get back up and keep going.

Your job title is musician - the field is art, sound art. You are one of the most creative people on the planet. Try not to always refer to music as medicine. See it as what it is.

I Agree, i live in the woods practially small community 10k ppl, with a nature reservation 50 meters from my door, so i do take walks in nature and its the best!

Yeah i figured out that music is the most important part of my life in sense of what im spending time doing, rather than engaging in stupid things, people do a lot of weird stuff, i stay close to music, so i might feel insane at some times and music is the opposite of that. Or an expression of it.

Yeah i did some tests, screenings and stuff in Sweden like 800 questions, and i got 99/100 in creativity, i dont remember the other scores but i had low scores in social things etc, like im a people person but at the same time im very introvert which is my main reason for doing drugs, which i have stopped doing, you know drugs is a huge part of social interaction anyway so its not weird that my life is less social when i quit.

But you have valid points, and i appreciate it. Thank you.

Great sentences and a great attitude from you. Thank you for your openness. You'll soon find out for yourself that you don't need to judge the society you live in. Most problems stem from childhood. Some problems resolve themselves, and some remain. Usually, however, you can live with them and move on.

It's good that you're facing reality and no longer need drugs. Problems just have to be solved, and as quickly as possible. Here in Germany, alcohol is the accepted answer. People drink for every occasion, and inhibitions/shyness disappear with alcohol, but the downsides of alcohol are terrible. Personally, I can only think of peaceful weed smokers. God also created the hemp plant for paper, clothing, and a joint.

However, if you already have psychological problems, they're more likely to get worse or stay the same. You have to face reality, sometimes very painfully, but only that leads to self-healing. If we can't change society, we can change our perspective. The greatest drug is one's own intelligence.

Yes mentally you can overcome anything if you commit to it and act on it, it sure takes practice and shifts from time to time, its like a cycle good ones and bad ones.

Im pretty strong minded considering what iv'e lived thorough but im not the only one, life is what you make it, but mistakes are inevitable.

Yeah same thing in Sweden, our country is going thorough some heavy shit atm, crime rates are INSANE its like a mekka for crime now, and that divides us, no one is happy really, ppl are scared and so on. Not me tho i don't give a F just think it's part of the collective well being.

Weed is probably the best drug overall, and i can take a hit or two depends on the brand, ive grown some weed aswell but its not an everyday solution, for me sedatives are the best. In very moderate dosages, like micro dosage or else im just a shell.

Staying sober has proven that my creativity peaks if im in a good cycle that is :)

Our minds are the ultimate tool for sure, but being completely free of thoughts like mindfullness is also worth exploring, ive tried it and it helps but its almost impossible to be totally free of toughts, when i make music im in that state "no mind" guess thats why creating is so important, atleast for me.

@JohnnyBoy023, I like how you see and live life that way.

Concentration and focus are the way out of mental madness.
Ultimately, we have a body that should be used and an infinitely creative brain, but a finite life.

This is THE most important aspect. It's actually what I do with my own music these days. I'm happy enough to just explore music for my own interest and satisfaction. I really don't care about validation as nothing can beat the exploration itself. It's akin to studying nature and biology; the deeper you look, the more fascinating it becomes. It's a never-ending cosmos where any direction of travel leads to infinite possibilities.

So, forgive me for "pushing" you to get out, I think I assumed that you were more interested in wider acknowledgement than you actually are. If you're perfectly happy with the journey for your own needs then that's really all that matters. No amount of feedback can equal making yourself smile at your own discovery.

Yea that is correct and the main reason and whatever comes with it comes with it, you where right about gigs it is the only and best income for all musicians since the big corps screw us and even mega stars.
Some day i will try to connect to a label and maybe get a 1 hour set then back home, Boris Brejcha does a set and then just hangs with his closest friends, he is a good role model and i think something similar for me in the future who knows.

I also have the skills for mixing and mastering so i could potentially get a desk job doing commersials and other crap, sound is relative in everything we do, social media, tv, commercials, podcasts so my plan is to just become really good and get a job to become self sufficient.

Music will always be my "ventilation" and therapy for trauma and other issues, creativity is the best activity for almost everything instead of staring on a phone 6hrs a day and whatever. It has helped me a lot.

Thank you for your input, i agree with both comments.

Thought you'd like that. ;) Of course there's loads of releases there and they won't all be to your taste (nor mine) but there's also some of the best in genre you're ever likely to hear. One of my most listened to labels these days. Plus it's free, can't get better value than that... :)

No its pretty cool like a simplified band camp and no charges, i guess it's their way of getting their music out there just share it and if it's good enough ppl will listen, i have a new track any sec now. I made it on a rather high dosage of prescription speed. Like adderall and it gives me so much anxiety i dont know why i take them but i dedicated the track to anxiety, i will share it, its not the best work, i am way better at producing with just caffine.

Heres the track, let me know honestly what needs improving i kinda winged the track just to be done with it and go next.

ok i would say the sound design is not very versatile. maybe try to use different synths. but for the genre , they are strong, dark, powerful. good job !

I find the continuous bass drum until 2:00 a bit monotonous, the beginning is a bit boring, but at 2:37 it finally gets going. The song lacks a bit of salt and pepper, but otherwise it has room for improvement and a good basic structure. Towards the end, 6 minutes later, you find your old form again!

Yeah i guess i could have filtered and removed the kick a bit more, common thing to do and effective, yeah i made the track today in like 6 hrs so i know it can improve i just doesnt know exactly what to do, i listen to some rly good artists and try to figure it out, i have my own style for sure but its still mediocre. I think using shaperbox and making bits and snippets can help alot, i just import samples and process them a bit,

I try to make 3 different variations in a track and it works with a bit of work, but making pro music is gonna take some time, thats why i ask for feedback, thanks for your input it helps, also you can be more specific if you could, its hard to come up with solutions when its my track and not yours, i follow some rules and structure and thats it, there is always room for improvement, taking time and finding the right sounds like searching for days would prolly help. I do my tracks in 6-8 hrs so i work fast which is good but bad for improvement, really need to think hard about what sounds to use and synths etc.

    Thnx for your input

It's like in real life, there are songs that work right away and are good and unique.
There are songs that simply can't be improved, but they are songs and a creative product.

I wouldn't necessarily try to make songs on the spur of the moment, there has to be a basis, a feeling that it should sound like this or that, and that you then realize this feeling or perception. You know big bands that sometimes write songs that aren't so good but the song wanted to go out into the world.

When I listen to presets, I usually only like very few of them, that's because I personally have high standards. There are bands that I listen to every week and have done so for 15 years, they give me a feeling of peace with my soul.

The times on our globe, the world you live in, are not always so great and so is our music. We are a mirror image, just like rain and sunshine, storm and cold, warmth and beauty, there is also hatred and agitation and violence, which is also reflected in our music or lyrics.

Don't overtax yourself, you will automatically develop and get better, it just can't be forced, sometimes your own mental capacity is not so good. Always remember the songs you have already created and be happy about what you can already do. The journey is the goal.

Man thats some valid points, im not too unsecure about my music, i do it for mental freedom and ventilation, sure i try to produce like other artists, thats how music is progressed everybody has had an influense for their own music and basicly copied it made it their own, like in 1969 or so and earlier blues was the foundation for what became rock and roll, so its all connected. Making music relaxes me and i feel like im doing something of value instead of staring in a mobile phone and what not.

I feel pretty ok with my music, i am a bit self critical but if i wasn't there would be no progress but i agree with what ur saying, and the moment is the important part, not what comes later so like you said the journey is whats most important, and when im making music, im in the moment for hours, then when im done i become anxious, taking a walk in the nature is also rly good.

    Thnx for your comments.
