I am looking for the manual for the original Dfh Superior.
That is the first version (not 2 or 3)

The installation procedure of the Dfh Superior involves manually copying samples and merging them in a folder.

The manual should state the number of files in the completed install.
These numbers are needed to verify a succesfull install.

Unfortunately the manual is super hard to find today.
It migh have been that it was only available on paper originally, and no pdf. (not sure)

 

According to an nfo file, DFH Superior was the "sequel" to just DFH. See below info, maybe you can just clarify which you are trying to find:

I am looking for the "Toontrack dfh Superior" manual.
This is the first product bearing the "Superior" product name by Toontrack.

Toontrack Drumkit From Hell (dfh) is an older unrelated product by Toontrack.

 

Exactly, just making sure. Did you already download the 9 "dvd" .iso release of DFH Superior from Delerium, and it is not in there?

That nfo file shows that it contains 85,000 one-shot drum samples. I doubt that is an exact number.

 

Yes, I have scene release by Delerium that was recently uploaded to audioz.
The manual is not in there, which is why I suspect it was only in paper form.

 

Note that I have never read the original manual.

The reason I believe that the "number of files in the completed install" numbers should be in there is because both the Custom & Vintage and the Vintage Add On manual for Dfh Superior do have this.
These are stated as the way to confirm a correct installation

Oh, I remember this release well because so many people had problems with it. The old "missing soundstats" file. People seemed to eventually have the best luck running it inside Superior Drummer 2.2.x by finding the kits by selecting s1 drummer --> construct button --> drop down list.

Yes, I am aware of the many problems of this release.
Fortunately, the version on audioz is now the proper scene release of it, and it is working quite well for me.

But due to the many known problems of installation of dfh Superior I have become slighly paranoid of if it really installed properly.
Hence why I am searching for the manual, to be able to confirm the file numbers.

@defon, yes, there was a manual in paper form back then; PDFs hadn't been invented back then. You can, of course, ask the manufacturer, but that only works if you have a purchased version. Team Dynamics either messed things up a bit or didn't have the manual themselves. Only those who have a purchased version probably only have the manual.

However, most people only play the Modern Superiors, and it would be a stroke of luck to find someone who has it.
Have you checked all the folders to see if there's a file you can read?

I had the original version (the boxed one). Honestly, I don't remember having the PDF manual just the printed one.

The PDF format is around from the early 90's

 

The thread starter is looking for exactly this printed manual. Can you copy it and upload it here?

Well if you had asked me last year I would have gone right to the box and pulled it out for you because I had it. But when I broke up a business with another guy he took all the original software boxes and we're not really on speaking terms, so...
I just wasted everybody's time.
