    “Artificial intelligence doesn't actually exist”

Humans have long dreamed of superhuman beings that often possess enormous size and strength and can carry out extraordinary, physically difficult tasks at lightning speed. At the same time, however, he also fears that they will become uncontrollable after a while.

And what of the matter that stardust is the antithesis of the ego? Have you considered that in your supposition of future controversies regarding the impossibility of superfluously accelerated supernaturally engorged CRISPR beings of exponentially expanded consciousness? This is to say nothing of their gargantuan proportions in the physical domain. Naturally.

    or a malformed AI bot..

the question "And what of the matter that stardust is the antithesis of the ego?"

doesn't seem to match that answer or observation that follows in the next sentence, making it difficult to parse any real information.

Because the tardigrade is a virtually indestructible creature and can even survive at least in hibernation in the vacuum and cold of outerspace, there was squalk of infusing it's DNA into the human genome. What could go wrong with that?

Indeed. I understand the mods at some level, and i do respect their decisions.

My warning point was given me by our dear Olymoon when i was saying bad things to Giancarlo del Sordo. I mean, it could be Foster, it could be Gianka (we for sure know both guys), but my speech wasn't acceptable on any manner.
Here is already chaotic AF, if the mods don't put down the mess we are all f*ked. Now i treat my warning point as a very cool tattoo made by Oly when he was among us.

Here's still one of the most respectable places i know from all the internet ghettos i was/i'm.

most people (myself included) often fail to realize simple techniques can produce complex results. For instance a grapefruit sized sphere of plutonium sliced in half and polished on those surface, can be mounted on a precision carriage to allow the 2 halves to be rejoined. If a high explosive charge is used to join those bits of metal (very rapidly). the result is a nuclear fission chain reaction known as an Atomic Bomb. a simple device producing an array of compex reactions on many levels from sub atomic to atmospheric including world wide radioactive fallout.

So don't understimate the power of simple things to cascade into complex and difficult things.

as always we are guinea pigs, as the science boys stampede toward the "next interesting thing" and consequences be damned.

What used to be churches are now data centers, where AI data is stored. This is just one of many Google facilities.

That Rolling Stone piece is wild, but honestly not surprising. I’ve seen a few cases on Reddit and Twitter where folks get way too emotionally attached to chatbots, or start believing those things are truly alive or spiritual. I think it’s a mix of loneliness and just too much screen time, mixed with how convincing some of these LLMs can get. The scary part is big companies keep pushing these tools out there without much warning, like everyone will figure it out on their own where the line is. What really stands out to me are platforms or tools that manage to use advanced tech but still put privacy and clear boundaries first. For example, identity verification tech like the orb aims to verify someone’s uniqueness without storing images or digging into your private info. That kind of approach feels way more responsible.

This statement from you, @Riddim Machine, deserves special recognition! A world-class comparison that's hard to beat!

It's actually a (new) condition—a psychological disorder, really—to have a relationship or partnership with a chatbot. AI is simply overwhelming us; you know how fast things move in the digital world. You either participate or you're left out. How many people even have a smartphone these days? The first Apple iPhone saw the light of day on January 9, 2007.
