    Saw this today..

if you are having problems with windows booting slower, or more resources running in background..

    https://www.pcworld.com/article/265...oft-is-making-it-load-at-windows-startup.html

You know how every annoying Windows program wants to launch as soon as you boot up your computer? Well, now Office is going to do that, too. A new “Startup Boost” function will set Office to load when Windows starts up, which will make apps like Word and Excel launch faster—while making the rest of your computer slower.

    Whoopie.

I mean, of all the things that can slow down boot to load startup services are trivial and take seconds to disable. And if you have no idea how to do that it takes all of a minute to learn...which if you're running a DAW on PC you should already know how to do as part of the 'make my daw, daw more--er' checklist process.

to be honest, major slowdown upon boot is the BIOS+security itself,
my ancient i7-3770K on Z77-I Deluxe mobo boots (and reboots) still little faster than any new PC with NVME SSD,
Office preloading things isn't bad IF you use such software anyway - and if not, then you shouldn't install it in first place :bleh:

Type "app in background" in WIn1x search bar, click the link and disable every item you desire
Do the same with apps wich start automatically

microsoft shouldn't make that choice for you, the owner of the machine. that should be your choice, not mandatory unless you purposefully disble it.

thats why people hate microsoft, there are an asshat marketing company masquerading as a software house.

Not me. I'm using GhostSpectre Compact Windows 11. Super fast. No bloatware and I only use the updates that he makes available. No problems. MS can go do something with themselves in the closet. Never had a crash, freeze or BSOD. Not once. I'm super happy with this OS. Better than Windows 10 even. Way faster.

That's funny as hell. Leave it to mickeysoft to find yet another way to promote additional drag on an already overloaded and bloated system of snakes and demons.

I have "Click To Run" office installed on my internet machine. NO updating, NO telemetry, NO internet access, NO logins, for office or anything related to office (except outlook). The "Click-to-Run" service must be allowed to start and run otherwise no office app will run at all - but the CTR service has "0" access to internet. Same goes for other office and telemetry crap. All shut off. Outlook is allowed to connect to ms exchange servers to get mail from a MS account once a day - always thru VPN. Outlook cannot updated or run autonomously - just run on demand then terminated. Since the connection is thru exchange protocols there might be some telemetry changing hands but very minimal and only pertaining to exchange. The ms account is setup with totally anonymous data. It works well this way and doesn't induce any system overhead, telemetry, or put privacy at risk. However it does not come this way out of the box - even though it should.

None of the GS ISO's are TPM dependent. Unless you wanted to be. No idea why anyone would want it TPM dependent.

    MS assholes.
I say assholes because those who are ordering these things know they will cause trouble for all performance-oriented users, and they just don't care.
Does MS actually provide any real support for their products?
If they were a new company, they'd be dead already.

No one should be running a stock version of windows it should be setup, disable all crap services until you reach down to the necessary and basic ones. Then install all the Apps+plugins that you need, after this step image that drive into an external usb backup drive so you have an image of the OS+Apps+PLugins all ready to go in seconds if anything happens to that system.

Windows 10 should be running around 50 services at max nothing more than that ( remember some apps and drivers install some required services).

In your task manager check what is running, check Performance tab on task manager and see what is happening there. If your computer is idle There should be zero activities on the CPU or Drive section, if you see any cpu spikes your system is crap and needs to properly setup.

25 years of running Windows this way ZERO ACTIVITY on the CPU and drive ( Idle system)

This is what happened over the years

    Windows XP - 12 services ( around)
    Windows 7 - 34 ( around)
    Windows 8 - 45 ( around)
    Windows 10 - 54 ( around)
    Windows 11 - 56 ( around)

These services keep the system running with internet, printing and other necessary services.
There is no antivirus, no firewall, no BS running.

Network Connection is disabled when working on the computer ( video, graphics, audio)
There is a batch on the desktop I run to disable automatically the network connection and another batch to turn it on.
