this is easier if you want a lot of pedal fx (modeled) in a small studio. it doesn't take up much space and you don't need a bunch of 9v power supplies like you would with individual pedals, and the cabling etc. It has built in speakers for tweaking the sound (which can be muted) and lots of outputs to physical recorder, or DAW or amp etc..

 

it also has aux inputs which allow you to use other sources to modify, and you can use with keyboard etc. I've used it to modify the output from my Arturia keyboard using reverb, delay etc..

 

I was thinking more live performance. I know many people like the all-in-one. I still prefer just a few single workhorses for live. Studio, yes, absolutely agree with you, and also with the post above I also agree if in the studio.
