    Another reason most people will pick the 8080, and why they can generally cost quite a bit more now; is because the 8080 has rack unit build quality.

    Just get an SH-4D. Completely different filter, but it has the SuperSaw AND the Alpha Juno PWM Saw in it, not to mention this was Roland's first attempt at a 'virtual analog'. Even the ZenCore modeling in the SH-4D is quite beyond it.

    BTW - I think the SH-32 was Rolands' 1st foray into VA hardware boxes.

    Just because they market it as such, doesn't make it so.... cause it aint. It's a Mutable Instruments Braids oscillator with an ok analog filter slapped on it. When it comes to B, good rule of thumb... was the og built in the 70's? Probably a genuine attempt at a clone. Did the og have any complex digital systems? Not a clone/emulation despite the marketing (all those miniboxes, the ob thing, etc).

    If you buy one make sure the filter potentiometers arent crackly, which is a common occurance with well used keyboard units, not sure if the rack suffers the same problem im talking bout the jp 8000 i will sum up the sound with one word too "Anthemic"

    It's a generic software based synthesizer in a tiny box (a synthesizer for ants!) that doesn't emulate the JP in any sort of authentic way.
