What are you doing with the impulse responses from the sister site , for example the ir`s from past to future reverbs ?

I mean ,I know impulse responses as a real sounding reverb or something, but what to do with an impulse response from a speaker or a Compressor and how do you use it ?

a lot of the time ive noticed its off or on. so you could shape the color with knobs but its still off and on as far as use. theres a ton of loaders, they “can” shape a mic’d cab when its stacked as well

Which loader can is use for it ?

So assuming I have loaded an impulse response from a Manley vari mu compressor and the loader with the loaded sample is in the insert on my lead vocal, it emulates the circuitry of the Manley compressor without doing any gain reduction ?
    Do I understand this correctly?

Neural Amp Modeler + outboard and or pedal responses == lots of saturation flavors for very minimal cpu. You can find free API, Neve, Chandler, UA etc some of them with 10+ impulses. The character of the sound you get is determined by both what the actual impulse is and what the intended loudness value is when it was captured, which is usually indicated in the label. For pedals you can find releases that have dozens of impulses that represent the full parameter range of all parameters. For compressors and preamps is often just one shot color flavors. Channels are usually one shot colors as well but are also likely to be several variations from a session.

you can also use a multi ir loader and combine irs for some cool results. stl has one.

IR is just a recorded frequency response of an audio impulse sent thorough a device, or space (like room).

NAM or Genome profile is done quite differently. It's a machine learning profile which is done by interpolating between many different settings of an audio device so it represents the device's dynamic as well as frequency domain behaviour much more closely than IR. The quality of neural machine model depends on how many different settings you used for teaching it.

I've had NAM on the brain lately -- thanks for adding that clarity. Yeah, not wav. Kind of related, but the fancier more educated cousin that actually graduated HS... It does also load mono IR wavs, but the intent of those is to give the primary NAM slot a specific space, not really to use in its own right.
