    I followed:

    Installed
    Spectrasonics Omnisphere v2.8.6c MORiA first
then made the spectrasonics folder in application support and placed the steam library folder
then the patch and then the soundsource

after the installation and updates I made a symlink for the STEAM folder.

When I launch Omnisphere in ableton it gives me:

Data properties file not found for Omnisphere. A possible explanation is that the installation was not completed properly (Omnisphere patch data needs to be upgraded to version 2; review installation procedure and install the version 2 data).

But I can still see some presets, the Moog Tribute Library (installed at the proper location in steam) and it seems usable, idk if it's fully correct though and if I can just ignore the warning and keep using it.

Notice: Data Properties File Not Found

If you are receiving an error regarding Data Properties when you open your instrument, this may indicate that you need to install the three updates (only two updates for Stylus RMX) from your user account. A quick way to resolve this is to open your instrument as a standalone application and click Get Updates on the left side of the screen. This will take you to our Smart Update page that will tell you what components need to be updated. Click the blue Get Updates button on the Smart Update page to download your customer update package.

After the download completes, run the installer from either the Mac or Windows folder to update everything. If you are on Windows, make sure to Extract or Unzip before running the installer.

Here is an example of the error you may see:

Do you have the core library installed also?

On Mac systems, the Spectrasonics folder is located here:

Macintosh HD / Users / Your Username / Library / Application Support / Spectrasonics
Note: In Mac OS X 10.7 – 10.11, the Library folder in each User folder is hidden. Select the ‘Go’ menu at the top of your screen while in Finder mode, then hold the ‘option’ key on your keyboard, then select ‘Library’. If you are unable to locate your User Library in OS X 10.12, select the Go menu at the top of your screen while using the Finder, then select Go to Folder; enter ~/Library – then select Go.

    SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS FOR ALL USERS

    • 2.4 GHz or higher processor
    • 8GB of RAM or more recommended
    • 64 GB of free hard drive space (128 GB for the download installation process)
    • USB 2 or USB C Port for boxed media
    • Solid-state (SSD) or USB 3 drives recommended when installing Omnisphere’s Core Library on an external drive

Error: Audio Unit (AU) Errors on Mac
    https://www.spectrasonics.net/suppo...e/error:+audio+unit+(au)+errors+on+mac/101/20

If you are receiving any errors referring to Audio Units, first make sure that the .component file for your instrument is showing up in this location:

    Macintosh HD/ Library/ Audio/ Plug-Ins/ Components/

If it is present, restart your computer and this should resolve this issue.

You should make an Alias to Steam folder, not a Symlink. The main difference (in this scenario) is that a Symlink breaks when file is moved, and an Alias does not.
Use Permissions Reset or BatChmod on the Plugin and the Library. Make sure you have not moved Omnisphere.component from your actual /plugins/components folder. Make sure the drive you have Steam on is Ignoring User Permissions (checkbox in Get Info window, bottom right corner).

The Moog Tribute Library can cause problems. Consider getting rid of it. At least temporarily. Don't ask me anything about it beyond this. :)

Re-codesign Omnisphere.component. Do it manually, or use Codesigner.app or Sentinel. Find either on Audioz search.

If all do not work, reinstall Omnisphere. Leave STEAM folder alone, you do not need to reinstall that, just the plugin and the Standalone version. If you have to reinstall, do it with STEAM where it is. Do not change anything in the installer from default. If that means letting it create a new STEAM in the default location on your system disk, do that. Then just get rid of it and re-link STEAM using the Alias I mentioned.

Your problem is most likely Bob Moog Tribute library, but it can be any of the above issues.

ok, I put the component back on main drive no symlink, put the omnisphere steam on main no symlink, and now I don't get any warnings.

so how do i move the steam library to an external drive? alias doesn't read at all.
Edit: Nvm i figured it out, thanks
