Today (April 8th) in France, a Mac Studio:
    - Apple M4 Max chip with 16 core processor, 40-core GPU, 16-core Neural Engine
    - 128GB unified memory
    - 1TB SSD storage
    costs €4,624.
Can you tell me how much it costs in the US? (I don't have a VPN)

isnt the Apple stuff produced mainly in china? therefore import to US does have huge tariffs?

So in that case europe price would remain the same? Since Apple products never go through the US as physical good?

im still laughing at that 1TB ssd storage? idk apple.

But Apple does know its customers. You have to understand Apple customers: they are looking in windows programs section and then ask for mac versions. :winker:

Yes, computers are produced in China, so it´s bad luck for U.S citizens, not so much here in EU, if Apple plays it right

New costs? If the duty is good for every country with each other, minus one, hopefully, price rises will be minimal and not major on most things.

    • Neural Engine 16 cœurs
    • Écran Liquid Retina XDR 16 pouces²
    • Trois ports Thunderbolt 5, port HDMI, lecteur de carte SDXC, prise casque, port MagSafe 3
    • Magic Keyboard avec Touch ID
    • Trackpad Force Touch
    • Adaptateur secteur USB-C 140 W

EDIT: It's not necessarily the case that when tariffs rise, products become more expensive. Often, companies simply earn less. Also, consider checking the warranty terms and conditions to see if they apply in your country if you buy abroad. If you order from the US, it will arrive either by ship or plane. This will be very expensive due to the fuel costs and the distance.

France and America and back costs from approximately 482 EUR...!
Especially since there's always the risk of being stolen, your laptop falling, and a thousand other things.

That's less than half of what he would be spending extra if he got it locally, i wouldnt mind a free vacation while also saving money.

Also the mac studio isn't that big physically, i guess it's up to him.

I spend around at least 1/2 my time internationally as an American citizen.. so a tad familiar with certain things in regards to buying and moving around with new Apple stuff... first of all, traditionally, it's obviously cheaper to buy apple products in the States in general. Hell, my last MBP cost at least $1400 cheaper than it would if I had purchased in EU or UK etc... it was almost ~40-50% less in other words.. (I'll have to go look, but my friends in UK/EU were willing to buy it from me if I didn't like it no problem)....

and it's not a big deal to fly with a new damn laptop in your possession as is what it is, and they aren't all that concerned about that.... showing up with a palette of them might obviously... or a suitcase filled with them... or shipping it.... but whatever. I buy in the States as cheaper, (also has the keyboard format I am more familiar with ((at this point I have a few mbp's from over the years and different places, and 3 different keyboard layouts lol.... so you kinda have to rewire your brain/fingers or remap things etc)....

and I don't know, I have mine, and if a buddy needs a new laptop and I have to travel with it over from the states with it, I don't give an s, and neither have I ever encountered a problem with a hundred passes through uk/eu customs or more in and out...

Tricky situation, should you buy now before prices escalate further or wait until it all calms down again - nobody knows.

EDIT: I can't see why they would put their prices down again even if the tariffs are reversed, things tend to shoot up in price and come back down very slowly if at all.

Buy now; everything will become more expensive, the dollar will lose value, and inflation (money valuation) will persist. Procuring raw materials will also become more expensive. You haven't noticed this yet, but tariffs will ultimately make products more expensive.
