I'm curious because i used to have a legit ableton and sold it when i've got bitwig.
I'm still using ableton sometimes because i enjoy the DAW but sadly with a few complex m4l devices it's a total misery the interface become slow and laggy everytime i do something. It's really hard to pinpoint why. I know it wasnt as bad before so i'm curious if the fact that i'm using cracked ableton and max on my computer can make this an issue ?
M4l was always a sort of mess but right now even just loading a few m4l devices makes it noticeably slower..
Anyone is familiar with a way of finding why ? Maybe i should reinstall ableton and max clean or not install max separately.. I know i have like 100's of max devices i've buyed i'm using but they shouldnt be that inneficient and laggy

yeah i guess some devices aren't optimised. But it's a fatal flaw that ableton and max basically are making devices somewhat obsolete by their unoptimisation between updates.. Maybe i will try installing live 11 to see if it's that bad there too.

Yeah it's what i was thinking.. Seems strange to me that it would have negative implications for my cpu.. Idk maybe i was thinking there is a validation feedback loop happening or ableton managed to insert process slower in non legit version like time bomb ?
I have to cleanse my m4l stuff and keep only some of the things i guesss

 

What release do you use? My Ableton from Audiowarez started working somewhat slow and start up was incredibly slow. I tried to reinstall few times but it didn’t help. The latest R2R release made it working back to normal.

 

They are the same, zero difference. Maybe the launching time is different, but in use they're the same.

 

Ableton serie is one of the "untouched code" releases.
Some scene releases are even FASTER than legit, due to "removed checks".

I think you're asking the wrong question.. What you should be asking yourself is, will the miniscule difference between all your options and what you have now really worth going to all that extra trouble of not only having to reinstall it, but maybe having to accept when you DO reinstall it that it might create other problems.
Honestly? I don't think it's worth messing about with something that does actually work, even though at best it might save you a few milliseconds every time you open it.

Some protections are really invasive, and groups like R2R "simply" removed the code.

 

Yeah idk it's a ball throw in the dark i know fundamentally they shouldnt have touched the code. but i was thinking maybe ableton introduced slowyness barrier when it's non legit. Like some form of timebomb.
M4l is a pain in the ass i have a pretty decent CPU and often it's just intensely rattling with like 20 devices... Maybe i have to troubleshoot which devices are the culprits but it's not like it's even easy to diagnose lol
