I solved my problem. A bit drastic but worked. I simply reformatted, reinstalled Windows 11, deleted my last couple projects and reinstalled all my Roland VSTs etc.. All is working fine for now. Yay!

Hmmm, unfortunately it doesn't do that for me. When I load for example "PR-A.bin" via the browser of the plugin (location in C:\Program Files), I can use this bank. When I close Reaper, the "PR-A.bin" is still a .bin file but next time I start Reaper and XV5080, the "PR-A.bin" file is not available via the browser. I have to load it again. I cannot figure out what I am doping wrong?

Sorry... What did you do to stop it? I didn't get it.

PR-A is one of the default preset banks that ship with the plugin - the installer should put them there for you already, and they should show up in the plugin. There is no need to manually copy those in, or load them via the pugin. If they are not there after you install the plugin, perhaps your installer didn't work properly, or you have files/folders in the wrong location perhaps? I don't know Windows paths, and can't really help with Win issues.

No install. I found a noinstall of all Roland synths with separate VST3i's, no installers. The version is v1.03.
If nothing works, I will try to use R2R's version v1.04.
BTW, I am on Linux and use Wine to run windows plugins.

You had already indicated this. Without showing ~/.wine, it can't be just assumed you are dealing with a persistent location. But if you are, are you sure the plugin is looking to right one within the actual directory tree? Try the method you mentioned earlier saving a dupe file in another location, then locate them both to compare. Your plugin is probably just looking at the wrong place due to it being loaded virtualized. You may have to alt+up arrow in your file manager or cd.. in cli to arrive where it is actually looking to find the file.

Ahmmm....I have no idea what you mean, but I guess this is something to look into deeper. Because I also experienced problems with saving the library file in Kontakt Portable.
My VST3 is in the normal place:
    /home/paul/.wine/drive_c/Program Files/Common Files/VST3/Roland/XV-5080/
The plugin is "looking" in this directory:
    /home/paul/.wine/drive_c/ProgramData/Roland Cloud/XV-5080/
All .bin files are recognized by the plugin, but after ending Reaper, all files are replace to .bak.
When I load a .bin file via the browser of the plugin, the sounds are working. But when I try to save the bank, it says:
"The file could not be saved. Make sure the media is not write protected and there is sufficient free space."
It does not matter where is try to save it: within the Linux partition or in /home/paul/.wine/drive_c/users/paul/Documents/.
I have no clue what the problem for this is. I would very much like to understand it however so when somebody could be so kind to explain this?

All you have to do is put all the .bin files from ProgramData/Roland Cloud/XV-5080 (let's say) to Program Files/Roland Cloud/XV-5080/patch (let's say) and make the ProgramData/Roland Cloud/XV-5080/InstalledBankNames.dat no permissions at all. Easy. You have to leave those .bin files in Program Files/Roland Cloud/XV-5080/patch with normal r/w permissions otherwise the plugin won't be able to load them.

Because when you use Linux and you want to run Windows plugins you run them in Wine? You have something VERY similar on Mac, when you use M(1-3) Mac with an ARM processor and you have to run an Intel compiled program/plugin. It is called Rosetta. It's rather efficient just as WINE. I'm flabbergasted at how efficient Windblows plugins work on Linux now. It took a while, but it's mostly there. WINE 9 is great and it's only gonna get better with WINE 10 onwards and OpenGL and Wayland desktop session support (plus mature Pipewire instead of JACK <-love it). Gamers are coming to Linux and run Steam on it. Valve caters to them and pushes/finances WINE development. Valve is the richest gaming company and games are bigger than any sport or film industry these days, so loads of money is being invested in WINE.

I've already lost every ounce of will to run any programs on real Windows. WINE is so powerful that it can make programs believe they run on any WIndows from 1.0 to W11 and it uses only minimal resources which are needed to run it. Read that sentence again and let it sink in. I don't care what version of Windblows the plugins want! You can make a new "Prefix" and run plugins that need W10 or W3.1 in it in parallel to other Prefixes (sandboxed virtual machines). No need to worry about Windows version. And now compare this to real Windows with 166 cryptingly named background processes and a monolithic kernel (loads everything in memory, tons of unnecessary things, a memory hog, unlike Linux), and all the MS spyware and unnecessary processes, and being stuck with a version of Windblows that a plugin you like doesn't support!... This is perfect. :love it: ! It's the way of the future.

And I know it's too much for the most of you. Don't get offended, please. Just make music. The OS, the DAW, the plugins don't matter. Just make music. How you feel and what you produce is all that matters.
