Huge congrats on hitting the one-year mark! That’s a massive achievement, especially after 27 years of heavy smoking. It’s crazy looking back and realizing what your body used to tolerate. And yeah, once you quit, you start noticing just how much smoking is everywhere in movies. The fact that your studio and equipment don’t reek anymore is a solid bonus too.
Those pens? They are terrible. They are very expensive, and do not contain very much; but the worst part about them is they are still concentrates. They can be rated as high as %100, which I do not really understand the mathematics of. But because they are so concentrated, they can really screw up your tolerance; just like any other concentrates. Waste of time and money, but maybe they are ok for medical purposes.
Glad you’re off the cigarettes. For me, vaping is a whole other beast because it’s a lot harder to quit compared to smoking cigs. Being addicted to anything is a pain in the ass. Last edited: Mar 16, 2025
as I've read elsewhere: clean air>vaping>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>smoking. I wouldn't use the sketch disposables which are problematic on many different levels, from questionable juice, deceptively high nicotine levels, to quality control, to just massive amounts dangerous earth crushing waste.... But I'm certainly not going to begrudge someone vaping to quit smoking, and one can have control of their ecosystem on that from building their own coils, wicking them, making own juice where you know what's in it, etc etc.. No one has died from vaping that way without either a big battery mishap, a pre existing condition, or the 2019 bullshit with the tainted vitamin e acetate thc carts and people lying about what they actually used. But sure, addiction is addiction, and sometimes it is just a gestural tick in having to hold something and hand to mouth and while I will clearly recognize that inhaling vg/pg with some base nicotine is not better than nothing at all, it's pretty low on the list of health concerns, especially if done right and not at high nicotine levels. The advent of nicotine salts, while can provide an experience of delivering nicotine at low wattage with smaller devices and somewhat inexpensively, well, that led to a lot of problems with some extremely high level nicotine levels, which is not good one many levels obviously, as a vasoconstrictor and kids doing it, let alone the unsavory marketing tactics of companies like Juul etc. But vaping is not the devil. And while I would never ever suggest vaping to people who do not smoke etc, it's certainly better than smoking, and has been a far more successful offramp for a horribly death inducing habit of smoking than anything else % wise by a significantly large margin. But again, not better than not doing any of it.
If you are trying to stop smoking then switch to cbd for about three weeks - thank me later. Put it in a dry herb vape - don't use that liquid poison sugar filled crap
Congrats on hitting the one-year mark! Quitting after 27 years is no easy feat, and vaping definitely makes the transition smoother. I had a similar experience. I tried quitting cold turkey a few times, but it never stuck. Switching to vaping was the only thing that worked long-term. It’s crazy to look back and realize how much money and health damage smoking caused. One of my favorite disposables when I started out was the Vozol Neon 800. The flavors were solid, and it lasted long enough without feeling like I was constantly restocking. It made the whole process way easier. Last edited: Apr 3, 2025
