I already know how to install it; I have hundreds of plugins on my system. This message appears in the modulation tab after a few tweaks. That's nice of you, omiac.

 

Hey this will help people in both directions (for Winblows at least)

The "S1 Presets" directory inside of Serum 2 is actually a symlink to your original Serum 1 directory. you cant see this in explorer


but you can see in PowerShell

You can add any directory to show up in the various Serum 2 locations using symlinks. Other preset locations, LFO shapes, MIDI's whatever.

For example here is how you could make your IR directory show up in the Convolver, with the name "Userz" and source directory off of my external HDD

run PowerShell as administrator:

To remove the S1 Presets, just remove that symlink. I dont think you need powershell for that.

V.R+TCD is Good version.

You could delete it, create a real folder with that name, and then RIght Click -> Properties -> Security and DENY permission to write to it
Or create a symlink that points to somewhere empty. But youd still see the S1 Presets, it just wouldnt show anything when hovering over it

EDIT: actually come to think of it, if you create a normal shortcut with that name, it might not even show it at all. The only reason i know this is because thats what I originally tried for Tables before i figured out the symlink thing

It is more like for ppl who bought serum 1 already and now getting a big huge update for free.

 

It's exactly like that. He could have chosen to freeze new v1 sales when he knew v2 was almost done and that some people would buy v1 still, to get a better price on v2. But there are also those of us who bought it many years ago, and if he and his company did not last all these years and long enough to create a v2; no-one would be getting anything. Except maybe from the next new llc and corporate identity selling a new product, with all the old customers getting nothing. Or like Acustica customers, never getting existing plugins fixed while new ones are created every month so they are considered "new products". With audio software, the latter is the more commonplace of a result.

It's always been pretty obvious he has no desire to just screw over his user base. There are enough audio software and hardware companies who have done and continue to do that. If people want to leave a "tip", why not? But it shouldn't be expected either.

Serum 2.0 is necessarily a CPU hog by default, but it appears the long drawn out dirge to get a working serum v1 is not to be with v2. The V.R.-TCD patch is working 100% thus far on the full factory install. Imports of 3rd party S2 presets working 100%. Controls and parameters now working 100% across all modes and FX. Great job by all on a great release.

I hope Serum2 will kill vitalsynth because Vital synth développers and his little army just disgusted me.

He litteraly abandon the synth & when you ask for help on reddit, you're post is deleted.(Ableton crash)

Long life to Serum and death to Vital. (I know vital is free but everyone can get serum for free and pay it when they want whatever.)

Vital is an excellent virtual synth with high-quality DSP code. It sounds very high-quality and, like the Sylenth 1, is irreplaceable.

 

I went to go find a copy of Vital on a few sites because there was a certain pack I wanted to check out. This was recently. And I noticed that it had been removed from most sites. They probably had the "pro" pay version on there and it has been removed. To me it looked like it does when something is DMCA'd. I could obviously find a copy if I was trying, but that's not my point. It made me think developer is maybe going to make a payware-only option new version. He probably never imagined it would be as successful getting users as it was.

The developer of Serum, according to ai search, mentioned in an interview he has made over $10 million in income related to Serum v1. Even if the Vital developer could make a tiny fraction of that; why wouldn't he? Of course, a lot of "free" audio software is only free because it would get someone sued for outright copying someone else's products.

 

The artificial stupidity – these are probably lies and untruths. Please cite the source of the interview.

If he can, as he says, spend several million to provide loyal users with a (free) quality version two, then it must be true that he earned more than a few million with version one. But Steve is a humble man. An altruist. For him — wink-wink — holy credits don't matter.
