Seems that V.R did the dirty job.

does it even matter with a high respected product such as this?
those who want to buy it and support, will do anyway.
those who were not going to do it, now have the ability to try it and use it. it's not like they were going to buy it anyway.
    nice 1poster though...

Eh... Not really, no. The first attempt has been made, but it's not really usable yet. They'll get it soon. We have confidence in the witches.

Yep traditional thousand untested revisions from VR after which you need to clean your system, considering Serum is a new release and there will be frequent updates from developer correcting bugs, I would wait a couple months before installing VR, unless you have a testing system not for work

Yeahp. I have a proper working v1 that has been completely fine and will continue with it until V2 gets to that point. Not even going to bother with V2 until it gets sorted.

The preset browser is improved but not great. Loads of rompler quality presets (guitar, orchestra etc) I guess someone wanted that?

Some new features, but mostly feels like same old. Which is not necessarily a bad thing, I dislike how Zebra3, Massive X etc have no continuity.

    I haven't experienced any crashes.

I had to reinstall it once, because of a license issue. It appeared to be related to it being blocked from phoning home, or their swamped website. The only problem with that, is it is legit version. If you guys on VR run into it, and if it is a bug; you could likely assume it's a problem with VR's rev whatever #.

Do you reckon the mac version will be more stable when it first releases or do you suggest, same as on windows, to wait a couple of months before installing just to be safe?

I reckon there is no possible way for anyone to predict this. And while I don't entirely disagree with the comment you quoted, dev legit version bugs aside, rev.3 seems to be working well for many people. Simply put, your choices are to purchase the product, be grateful and enjoy the process, or wait :winker:

I love the updated preset browser so much, absolutely night and day comparison when compared to the original preset browser. Previously it took ages to rebuild/rescan the presets everytime you added some new ones, now I can barely blink my eyes and it's already done.

Also loading the first instance of Serum 2 is way way WAYY faster than it used to be with the original Serum, even with tons of presets.

i found a "workaround" and now i made it working in Cubase Nuendo Reaper Bitwig 5.3.2
just use Plugin Buddy (a VST Host) i got it free some time ago... Also works in Unify standalone.
Other Plugin Hosts might work aswell.
    3 Instances, different presets:

You can create an SFZ with separate samples to each key.

So like c5 is a modulated reece bass , d5 is a slightly different modulated reece bass .

Effectively you can toggle on and off the sub a,b,c, noise via midi automation or linking the on off to a midi controller.

If you have an SFZ with 20 different samples on all 3 a,b,c , and a sample in the noise cell without even doing any LFO ,adsr, or effects it's actually pretty impressive for that alone.

Why the condescending tone? And why talk about patience? I'm sorry but this has nothing to do with what I asked. My question was straightforward - is it safe to install such early releases on an important work machine, or is it very much safer (almost necessary) to wait until a few iterations have been released? (which I absolutely have not complained about). I'm asking so when it does come out, I know whether it's a good idea or not to install it right away. There was no hidden agenda to my question.
