Well, the cold tone is because is a modern wavetable synth, nothing to do with PPG and Microwave 1 synths, i was expecting a vintage mode for this in the v2 (a sort of 3rd wave synth with a ppg old school emulation) anyway we have waldorf plugins to bring some warm and furrysh, i own the v1 and ill buy the v2 because is still insane and improved.

In this case how many offline activation per account? This was a good question..

It does not give a specific number which I could find. It has this under the FAQ:
You cannot authorize an unlimited amount of machines and accounts aren't meant to be shared. If you were to run out of machine authorizations, please contact support so we can look into your specific case (you can see and manage your activations in your account page).

Makes it sound like a few. I'm not sure how they actually control this with offline machines. What is to stop someone from generating a license file for a machine, putting the license on that machine, and then deleting it from the account but continuing to use it? But how many do you really need it on anyway...

Ableton does similar. you have to ask them for more licenses, which is annoying, but they generally get back pretty quickly.

I personally use five machines regularly. My laptop, my desktop, two different rooms in the main studio i work out of, in which one is my personal computer, and the second is a public computer, but my own user profile, and my GF's rig (she's also a producer / artist). Its irritates me when companies set a hard cap on how many machines are able to be licensed. I get it, like sure, you can't just have one license that can be shared with every friend you know, but there are many like me that work on multiple machines.

to me that blurb of text makes it sound like as long as it is within reason, they are probably going to be ok with it. But if they are offline activations, on firewalled machines, how will they be the wiser anyway? Once the serum2 license file is created on the website, the communication between the computer and the website is over. Deleting an activation does not deactivate the license on that machine. So if there is some restriction, it would have to be on the users permissions to create new licenses. You know there are people who will screw it up, so unless they want to build in time for additional and unnecessary tech support work; it's got to be a relatively generous number. They aren't trying to be iLok.

    here's a suggestion.... UPGRADE!
Why deny yourself of new features & power?

    Cool topic here.
Can you import wavetables which sounds warmer?
I thought serum can import some kinds of different wavetables.

I also can hear the difference between warm analog and modern static sounds.

In Serum you have a lot of filters and a large effect FX section with which you can change the imported wavetables and make them sound more analog and warmer. Example use the " Filtering, FM, PD, ring modulation, and distortion capabilities.

    Signal Path in Wavetable Synthesis

The further signal path of a wavetable synthesizer generally follows the usual subtractive synthesis scheme, with corresponding differences between different synthesizers. If there are multiple oscillators, their signals are mixed; ring modulation is sometimes also possible. Some wavetable synthesizers offer the option of further shaping the oscillator output signals using waveshapers. This is usually followed by a filter. Early wavetable synthesizers such as the PPG Wave 2 and the 1st generation Waldorf Microwave featured analog filters, which is why they are often said to have a particularly rich sound. Most modern wavetable synthesizers use virtual emulations of analog filters, but there are also hybrid concepts with analog filters, such as the Waldorf M and Quantum, or the Novation Peak/Summit.

The modulation options, such as envelopes and LFOs, also correspond to those found in typical subtractive synthesizers. Since wavetable synthesizers are fundamentally digital, they often feature significantly more flexible LFOs and envelopes than analog synthesizers. For example, there are often envelopes with more stages than in the classic ADSR scheme, which allow for particularly complex wavetable sweeps. Some modern wavetable synthesizers also offer a modulation sequencer, which can be used to create recurring modulation patterns with many steps. Modulating the parameters of a wavetable oscillator with this sequencer creates a wide variety of sounds.

the preset search compared to serum 1 is 100000x better.

only bad thing is patches from presetshare or random places wont show up in a type search unless the person put embedded data on it.
its really not a bad thing unless you are like me and dont bother organizing misc presets.

native instruments really dropped the ball with massive x compared to serum 2 to be honest

yes you can. you can also resample within serum to create new wavetables, or create your own tables from scratch.

Uhe has been talking a lot about Z3/Zebralette3 at various industry fairs recently so that seems to be the next main build from them.
Sylenth1 is way older than Serum, i doubt he will ever do smt brand new at this point but if so i would certainly be very interested.
