PS: Loads of good stuff on vimeo (only). Maybe staff is working on it, already.

But its incredible quiet in subway and public busses compared to 15 years ago! Noone is talking to each other! But of cause its also dangerous to walk on the sidewalk because noone is looking where he's going..Maybe they should develop a anti-collision-app!

So true, so sad, people now only know how to communicate with...intermediary... like phone...internet...
    ...Divides and conquer

  7. To me the thing is this...Of course it is like hypnotism, a great idea to keep people's mind's occupied and far far from questioning the current world paradigm of the corporate world order and the like while actively using the system that is enslaving them and loving it(evil genius), but I foresee it used as a weapon. Since so many people use it as a crutch to foster this strange reality of pseudo connectivity and depend on the technology to actually define themselves, what do you think would happen if all at once it disappeared and the drug was at once not available. It would be crushing. I am old enough to remember when we lived in a mono fidelity world and all used rotary telephones. This was not all that long ago really. The changes have come quickly and stealthily. Patience seems no longer a word that has any real meaning and living in the moment has changed connotation to mean mind locked to a screen.I am not immune to these changes and I am not preaching. I have become dependent on the technology of our musical medium to record and create and would feel...almost lost without it.

Just got back from holiday and we both noticed this happening. Family sat at meals not talking or couples just texting away.
People actually gave us weird looks because we were chatting and laughing :(

    So true.... so sad.

I own an iPhone. It is a phone. I don`t do the stare at screen. I speak on it, I occasionally send texts on it. However, it is blatantly obvious I am in the minority.

My 16 year old daughter recently discovered, upon removing her case, that her iPhone back had become cracked. I don`t think she has cried so hard since she was a toddler. I told her to not worry, it is only plastic, glass and wires and can be replaced.

Superliquid23 has it right, people are completely addicted to these lumps of tech. And what of the links to brain cancer from holding a device emitting microwaves so close to your head? No matter, just so long as you got the world at ya finger tips...... right?

We are all one, through our DNA. Divide and conquer is right Huehueteotl, by making the people beleive they need tech to help them connect.

May the Lord God Almighty have mercy on us all.

    Yup, +1 here

If people want to be anti-social zombies, there choice i suppose, but what really gets on my tits is when you're at a gig and everyones got their arms in the air with their phones out

I feel like sneaking a megaphone in sometimes and getting it out during a break in the band's set and shouting "Put you fucking phones away will you, I'm trying to watch the band and all i can see is all your fucking arms in the air"

The audio nearly always sound crap anyway when its recorded on mobiles

Oh how I do like to go out and see this movie happen live and in real time.
People hitting objects while they're walking, exciting dangerous situations with cars emergency-breaking and the drivers being wonderfully upset, people not understanding jokes 'cause they have spread their attention on too many things ...
And finally the premature man's hot girl falling in love with a guy who knows better how to share his own little time with her.
Welcome to the world of people in desperate search of their own life :bleh:

    Exists already.
Use the camera to film the street and display the OS on top of it.
    Forgot the name, though...

I haven't got much to add to what everybody said.

It is detached, alienated and stupid. I've got nothing against smartphones but use it sensibly. Use it when there's nothing better to do or when it's appropriate, not all the time.

Never a smartphone for me - practically speaking - buttonless cellphone is much more electronically complex than regular one - a whole lot of things can go wrong -> simple = reliable. Also battery life - 2 days!? My water resistant cell-brick can top 30 days.

In a way I'm against this cellphone thing - why should I be available all the time? Landlines are perfectly fine, plus they don't microwave your brain. And when I'm out, the last thing I want is to answer calls *yes*.
Camera? - Have a dedicated one, with better lens anyway.
Music player? - No cellphone can match the quality of my portable setup
Internet? - When I think of situations where it's actually necessary, it's less than 0.01%. Also phones aren't equipped with RJ-45 ethernet plug *yes*

you should see my phone, clean like a nun vagina. I get called weekly.. or even more, between two weeks intervals and when it happens, it should be important or else, i don't even bother answering, then i hear the ringtone of the text message = reading... that's a bit better.

  17. If there was a really good startup manager for my Android phone I would jump on it. My daughter downloaded some game on my phone and now the battery life is less than 18 hours. I haven't heard of one that actually works well. Suggestions (besides tossing it in a river).

I'm sure that designers put alot more work into the oldies than the actual touchscreen ones. Even a baby can draw a smartphone, lol.
