Today is that special day of the year again, but I'm not happy at all

 

Why?

Don't be sad my friend. You had braved many painful ordeal, overcame adversities. Surely this whatever isn't strong enough to pin you down. I only pray so whatever you wish gets fulfilled soon...

 

@Recoil ✪, I don't often leave comments, but wanted to say I'm sorry things are so hard. Please know that you matter, and that what you do and create matters.

I listened to some of your tracks from Cinematic Stories (I thought they might be more to my taste), and they’re truly beautiful.

Even if it feels impossible now, please don’t give up, and don't stop making music. Your music brings beauty and comfort to others. I hope, in time, it can bring you comfort too.

Are you saying not many people would pick their parents health/lives over making music?

 

@Readdy Could you give away half of your salary every month for 10 years? I did that because otherwise my parents would have died and I won't let anyone die here on my live time. I did what I had to do, I don't have to explain myself to anyone.

I won't go into the details, especially as my situations were so minor compared with yours, but just to guess that your understanding of the value of things has been deepened by your experiences.
I guess you know everything i will mention, but these are just things that come to mind when thinking of those situations.. and to avoid taking up too much space:

Sometimes that "deepening" of understanding is not what we want, and maybe in some ways better to avoid if possible. But if we must go through it, and do so with open eyes, trying to look at our own psychology, it can make us stronger.
But I know it can be dangerous to be very aware of what is happening psychologically, because it seems to remove any excuse for the feelings we have (and suffer). How can we excuse frustration, anger, depression ..when we know those feelings we are making ourselves?
It can make one even more critical of oneself and with no excuses to help.

What does not kill us CAN make us stronger, but it can also maim and disable us.
Ignorance may not be bliss, but sometimes it can help...but alcohol is a dangerous distraction.
Find everything else you can for fulfillment, and if that isn't available, for distraction and entertainment.

Sometimes what you do is not the important thing, but what you do NOT do is critical.
What to NOT do, is to think in circles or allow one's intellect and logic to be abused by emotions as in depression.
The emotions will lie, and use your own logic and intellect against you.
So in those times almost anything is a better option.

Physical activity /movement (sport if possible, but anything to move) except for "venting" of anger, which is a wrong concept and counterproductive.
But physicality is something that can bypass much thought and which your emotions can not use against you. Instead it is something that undermines bad emotions.
Music moves on inside, and it is good to let it transmit to movement OUTSIDE: dancing

For me, regardless of how pathetic my dancing was (just bouncing really) it was about the only thing that worked without other conditions. There was other physical activity that was good, but the quickest and most effective was dancing. The combination of music and movement is hard to beat. (pardon the pun).
