it's just the Roland Cloud 303 version which has been shared for about 4 years. I actually like D16 Phoscyon and Arturia Acid V just as much, or more; if you are going to use a plugin.

 

I did 'acquire' phoscyon and I use that now, but I remembered liking the roland one as well so it would have been nice to have it (legit). These days I'm also using sting (free m4l device) for ableton a lot more, so I can throw other kinds of synths over it to make weirder versions of acid sounds.

Legit is always nice. But at the same time, with a hundred different emulations out there and the real hardware version, even Behringers, and 12 million samples, no-one is ever going to worry about where an acid line comes from. Unless they are selling something, or scamming people into joining their mailing list like this.

there are also lots of virusTI 303 presets if you don't care about the groovebox layout.

 

Or, trying to destroy your already perfectly working CLOUD installation licences from SSite.

 

I don’t know if it worked for me, I was able to claim the coupon but then it said my token expired but it still has the fastspring receipt, I’d have to install the Roland cloud manager in hopes my license is in my account

 

They were gone a couple of hours after the campaign started, it wasn't really well-advertised — you couldn't find the link through a Google search, it's only starting to be advertised now that it's over. It looks like it was a cheap campaign to coop new users and collect email addresses for marketing and analytics, since it was over many hours ago and the link is still up.

 

I love D16 feel like theyre lil CPU heavy maybe my 2018 mac is too old now tho lol

 

On Phoscyon, hit the gear icon (preferences) top left and change the realtime and offline quality settings to draft. Before you bounce that channel, switch it back to the highest quality "Ultra". The others probably have the same options.

All the Roland Cloud instruments are the same way. They have them set to highest quality setting by default and they are terrible cpu-hogs. Switch them to lower quality settings (might be labelled "optimized") and they will run way better.

thanks for the tips ! ill do that for now on... i tried the roland cloud stuff to see what it was about but didnt like the whole ecosystem thing and i remmember the roland stuff being quite cpu heavy for me i uninstalled it very quickly... d16 isnt too bad on my system (i just noticed nepheton 2 and drumazon 2 were much more heavy than the original drumazon 1and nepheton 1 on my system.. not even sure if my mac meets their system hardware minimum requirements for the newer plugs lol

 

My brother-in-law's name is Roland and so I have unlimited vouchers...but only for family members. Sorry!!

 

Did anyone actually manage to get one of these ? Also, Is AudioRealism ABL3 no longer considered the best plugin version ?

i prefer arturia's. Its capable of extreme sound design and insane "modern" acid lines and then some. Sounds like you would hear from G Jones / Eprom etc. But its also great at classic acid.

ABL3 is still a great synth. D16 groups is also great. I also have the modded version of behringer's hardware, which, if you know you know. The classic "devil fish" mod's and more. Absolutely disgusting synth. Well worth the 150$, you could prob find it used even. I modded an actual 303 years ago, but it was stolen. I miss it, but having the behringer is a nice consolation. I love acid.

I did not get one of the licenses, but did get the "consolation prize" of 3 months of roland cloud ultimate, which includes the 303. Just got my account activated, and looking forward to installing it to test it out against the above.
