So I’m trying to register the license code and it keeps saying it’s invalid. Also when I try to patch the file with R2R it says “file id write protected” I wonder if this is the issue

 

Probably file in "read only" mode.
Try to run R2R patcher in "admin" mode.
If not enough, check if patched files are "read only" (file properties).

 

Thanks for the reply. Yeah i've changed privileges on the file itself and even the folder, i've also ran R2R as admin too but still says the file is rite protected.

 

I just reinstalled it in a different location and was able to patch the file but when i open the plugin in my DAW it still says invalid license!!

 

I don't know these plugins but after reading in sister site comments... They talk about not being able to enter the serial, besides the patching:

it could also be that the plugin now has no permissions to read the license file in the location it is looking for it. So maybe either move the file back there, change the permissions on it, or both.

No mate you only paste the serial into the plugin, not actually look for it in a specific location.

It is quite oldish when I checked the dates of releases on the sister site. It might be the case they don’t work on newer systems like Windows 11. Check this way. It might help to understand the problem.

PS. I meant the keygen and patcher and not only the files.

The plugin looks for the license file. You can't necessarily just put the license anywhere and expect it to work. It has to "know where it is" somehow, or it would have to scan the entire disk until it found it. And once it finds it, it needs permissions to be able to read the data inside of the file.

Certain r2r keygens actually create a license file for you. Sometimes they have it automatically put into the correct location; but others it will save to desktop automatically. And if you do it on Mac in Crossover, or other virtualization, even the ones which install license to a location will be on the virtualized file system instead of on your hard disk. It will be the wrong location and so you need to be careful to put it somewhere you can actually find it.

Assuming you're on a win PC -- Are you running an active internet connection on that machine? As well, is there win defender running? That could be the issue in a nutshell.
