Just a quick note. Reaper has smart folders for plugs. If I create a folder named Eq and check the smart folder option every plug with eq in the name is automatically added to the folder, even new ones I may add later.

    Get ready....
There's a free web based DAW now

Simply amazing https://opendaw.studio/ just open one of the available projects to get an overview of how it works
This is crazy (I know there's no VST plugin support, etc but all you need is an internet connection and a MaC/PC/Tablet/big screen smartphone)

I would go with studio one 7 I use FL too but I’m trying to force myself to use Studio one more
Mixing is so fast in it with the track inspector incredible stock FX I went from being an ableton user to being a studio one user i just like it better sold my copy of live for studio one I don’t like lives mixing it’s absolutely terrible you want speed you want stability studio one is an all rounder upgrade price isn’t too bad each year either “if” you want newer features but I love it it’s just way better I’m quite new to the software but it kinda clicked after I watched a few tutorials i have found that using FL to make the midi and then sending it to studio one boosts my production speed fast i also prefer working on the beats in studio one as well making too many patterns gets tedious in FL studio for general midi like synths and stuff its fine but when you make more complex projects with different beats it gets very tedious to make the patterns over and over again this is just my experience but im addicted to FL studios workflow lol so its hard to stay away

So would your audio files be stored locally or online?

I just tried it, and I prefer to work locally. No latency issues.

The online DAW is more for people who don't yet have their own DAW and want to try out something simple, maybe someone else will then get their own DAW and perhaps become a new musician. For a newcomer, a real DAW is usually quite overwhelming, which is why FL Studio is so popular.

With the latest version of Cubase, patterns, drum tracks, and modulators, mixer tracks finally can be rearranged with drag and dropping in the mixer etc. are heading in a pretty good direction. What’s still missing is some level of non-linear workflow support, but that can be managed quite well with reMIDI, as Cubase allows dragging and dropping MIDI events/clips/? from the arranger to plugins or other apps. dropped a small review about reMIDI to here https://www.kvraudio.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=618383

This is a terrible take on why FL is popular, FL's modularity is a jumbled mess until you KNOW how to use it. It is the antithesis of user friendly or self-explanatory.

No newbie has ever just looked at FL and said ahhh this makes sense
