My old Spitfire LABS just stopped working, is there no way at all to repair it?

I'm not at all interested in their new app with the subscription model.

You should find all your free LABS in the new version of LABS, even without a subscription. New free LABS are also published regularly.

Yeah, it's annoying but the new LABS works fine with no need to redownload anything. I've only used the freebies from Spitfire so there was no subscription hassle here.

Yes, but they require an internet connection, you have to re-authorise every 30 days minimum.

    yeah thats the sad thing.

also if you ask the support about offline installation, they will ghost you.
Its so stupid to force internet on a production software.

The old Labs plugin still works for me. I have no intention of moving to the current one, unless I'm forced to (even then, I'm not sure the Spitfire content I have is really worth the hassle...)

Make sure you don't do any hardware changes, I think I reinstalled network drivers or something like that and it messed up.

Now that you mention it, Spitfire does seem to have a Mac-bias, probably why they claimed that old LABS would simply keep working on people's systems. Because they forgot that sometimes people update drivers etc.

You can't just complete clean uninstall, reboot, and reinstall after the changes are completed?

No, AFAIK, you're cooked - just like me. My Labs (and some Originals) stopped working last week. content doesn't show up or something. It's a known bug, happens now and then. That’s why the app has a repair button. Can't repair the old Labs, though.

I knew this day would come, and I really don’t want to install that Labs+ crap. Funny how they’re sending me the 'Your opinion counts' survey… Yeah, sure it does.

Also, does the new bloatware even work with old Labs projects? Doubt it.

It's not stupid, but it is assuming that you have internet; or can figure out how to get your machine connected for a few minutes otherwise in 2025. Is that really such a leap or inconvenience? If the real reason someone cannot is because they do not want all the stuff on their system phoning home the second they detect a network connection; wouldn't you say "forcing internet" is actually not so stupid of them?

Forcing or requiring an internet connection (especially on a production machine) just to able to use programs or have some subscription based bullshit constantly chattering up a storm in the background is fucking moronic. There is no way for an end user to actually know what is being transmitted in those data streams therefore it is also a privacy concern as well.

there are companies, who make it possible to download a file for offline auth. See Ableton, IL for example.

A production computer shouldnt be connected to the internet, for productivity reason and for reasons of security.

So for i know its even possible to generate auth files for FL studio on the phone, you put the Challnge file on the phone, upload it to IL servers and get a Response file back.

Everything that is impossible with Spitfire for example. And that is moronic imo.

Hollddooon.. I'm not even resisting the daily network colonoscopy at this point. I have legit business with Spitfire, NI, Arturia, Cableboyz, etc., etc... ...and oh boy... their install/manage apps are driving my nuts. Some LABS patches were kinda inspiring, others had that 'it's free, but Beyouonce uses it - yaaayyy' vibe... BUT

I’ve got the Spitfire app installed, and now there’s this ugly g a p where LABS used to be (uhh). So here’s the real question:

Is LABS+ standalone? Or does it check licensing through VST>DAW (aka that firewall hole I rarely open)? Because if so, that means one company now wants two-way access to the net? WTF. I am not ready for DP... yet :woot:
