chill out already, I shared facts, and most people here cant afford acoustically treated rooms , you dont need soothe2 if your rooms are on this level, you can detect everything on the fly and you cant detect certain resonances you expect soothe2 using headphones as you claim again, its why you need a room, headphones never ever do the job, the room is so you can hear things you cant with headphones, you only turn to smaller monitors, radio shack speakers car radio and headphones for to final mixes to get an idea what it sound like broadcasted on radio, YouTube etc.

Its true that there are great headphones now simulating rooms, but its not the real thing any more then tube ams or other outboard gear., go compare or ask people who do this for a living and see, there are may videos on YouTube where people discuss this, many things especially eqs appear to be the same in the box as the hardware but its not the same at all, you get to frequencies way faster with hardware in treated rooms, you hear much more.

 

1000% correct and I agree with you, the whole iLok thing is been suppressed heavily by iLok who wants their clients assured they are in control of the whole market, which they are and sharing on sites like the sister site, but yeah, I ve heard of and even seen people who purchased tons of licences and put them on ilok keys undetected., ilok is pretty professional and aggressive about anyone doing this, but its out there if you know the right people I guess., just wish it was totally out there some how for everyone.

 

Bloom does a lot on busses. It just speeds up workflow substantially and is easily audible. Soothe as well. There are already probably alternatives that do just as well, but I already own these so I use them.
I just use one or two instances on a mix typically. Not a great plugin to spam all over a bunch of tracks imo.

Anyway they both make an audible difference but I think most people know that.

 

I totally agree that it does instant fixing compared to other similar products, just a tad depending on what you need, the Waves Equator is very good but everything I did with it compared to soothe2 seemed darker, although perfect for people who needed this on guitar drums and heavy vocals, its the rnb multiple background vocals that soothe2 nailed, I cant see it useful for anything else, I own it anyway but think its way way over priced, I dont use it as much as I used to.

 

Soothe - Bought it years ago and love it for subtle harmonic taming and setting vocals into place during mastering.
Spiff - Great for taming transients on vox.
Bloom - Demoed but was not my type of tool, so I passed on it.

To each their own tools.

 

Soothe is also really great on hi hats.

 

$200 just for hi hats? ii rather get decent monitors

 

That 200$ can go where it's really needed. I have no issues using a 3-4 year old version of any scene release. As long as it's working, I ain't messin' with it.
