Dammit, I think I remember those.
They might be really old. Not from 12 years ago, more like from 2000 to 2010 or something.
The brand looks like the Magnat logo.
A bad hifi brand that puts more effort into looks than into sound. Its the thing your uncle buys when he drives out to the big box stores and comes home with something he thought was decent.
It could be the grand grand father of something like this:

Nope not the Magnat speakers. The one in the OP is a Tapco S5. Notice the two LEDs on top of the tweeter.

    Mkey, definitely that speaker...
Still, is it possible it's a generic speaker different companies slapped their logo on?
The branding in OPs pics looks more flat silver than gold.
Are these decent monitors? Never heard that brand. Backpanel looks professional.

Edit// oh, they're from 2004/5, I defenitely stumbled upon those once or twice back then.

Well, as someone said earlier Tapco was engineered by Mackie. Tapco was Greg Mackie's first recorded endeavor with audio dating back to 1970. I 've listened to these monitors some 20 years ago and while i found them not very accurate, i was impressed with the build quality for the price. They were very sturdily built as you pointed out. So yeah, they should be considered decent.
