I am so far removed from mickeysoft as an OEM it is comical. However I have used their idiot OS's (after much reverse engineering) because apple hamstrings an end user way too much. As far as $$$ @ computing power goes, apple is too expensive hardware wise for my taste. Haven't used a ms OEM image for a build in decades, shit canned everything "microsoft-store" related, shit-canned edge, shit canned defender, been using PS scripts for years to activate the office, OS, etc, etc ,etc... At least with the PC side the industry's planned obsolescence scam does not affect those of us who wish to remain outside of its purview.

This shit about pulling support is funny as fuck. I just chuckle when I see "major OEM did this" or "major dev did that"... It's all just water under the bridge for those of us who wish to remain resilient to their assholic tendencies. Fuck 'em...

Hehe.. With every patch tuesday they break way more than they fix, if you allow that shit to continue. They do get all the info they need on you though. Their telemetry servers are happy as pigs in slop with every unsuspecting newb who keeps all that junkware running.

I run a 10th gen pc and running GhostSpectre Win 11 and happy. My games, audio, video editing software all run with no problems and fast. I have no need to upgrade or switch or whatever. I just update when GhostSpectre releases an update and done. No problems. NEVER had a crash, blue screen or any kind of freeze or problems. Very happy PC windows user.

TPM and/or TPM2 is hardware, a chip on the motherboard. All newer mobos have it, so yours shouldn't be an exception.

My Xeon 1230v3 runs Windows 11 23H2 without any issues. I’ve upgraded and downgraded my system multiple times—from Windows 7 to Windows 10, then to Windows 11 22H2, and back to 23H2—and everything works perfectly.

Fun fact: the first thing I installed back in 2011 was Total Commander, and it’s still there today.

But let’s be real—Microsoft is a shady company. They’re basically forcing people to buy new hardware so everyone in the chain can cash in.

according to CPU-Z I just run, my Q3-2014 processor supports SSE4.2 so I guess it's not a big deal unless someone has really ancient spec

 

i'm still using a laptop with windows xp at work (they don't want to buy a new one, but who cares? excel and word work fine!)

 

64bit os like windows7 etc, allows you to have way more memory. which makes everything more better.
16gb or 32gb is much better than 4gb, as you don't have as much disk swapping and can keep more data in ram.
but yeah I still have an xp laptop with 1.5gb of ram, and its useable for spreadsheets etc.. its not my main squeeze, but I still use it once or twice a week..
