Very true this indeed, all of this. Catchy vocals and you got a banger.

Oh wow lol. I would feel like if I used someones sample or preset with zero tweaking, I'd feel like it's not "my sound" because then anyone could use the exact same. I'm sure if you are familiar with preset packs etc. you have heard that exact sound on a radio hit. Kyle Beats actually confronted the producer of The MexicanOT - Johnny Dang because he used their sample pack and used the exact same melody and loop LOL. He was like WTF my boy made that shit lol, then he got paid.

most, if not all; of those e-mu sample libraries were made by pros. They were sold by E-Mu. For more "loop" types of stuff, most of them got put into Recycle first. It would use hitpoint detection to insert slice points, or it can also be done manually. Then a playback Midi file was generated which would play back those slices exactly how the original loop was arranged. When the sliced loop then gets transmitted to the sampler as one-shots, each slice can be automatically placed mapped across the controllers keyboard. They can be played back the same as original, or the midi can be edited to change the playback order like any normal midi data. Or a copy of the entire loop can be put on each key of the controller. I think Serato Sample may be the closest current product with similar workflow. Or Logic Drum Machine Designer in versions 10.5 and later.

Their push to do this software sampler maybe even contributed to the company's demise. You should look on Reverb.com instead of eBay for old hardware, imo. When you do a buy/sell transaction with someone, the seller is not paid until the buyer gets the item. You can get a good amount of model-specific sales data from Reverb.

In the Internet Archive you can find both E-MU Emulator X3 x86 and x64 (standalone and VST2) and there is no longer any need to mess with serial numbers or the need to authorize it online cause they are pre-activated versions. In the same site you can find also Proteus VX free to download and tons of libraries for both Emulator and Proteus. I've installed some time ago E-MU Emulator X3 x64 and works perfectly both standalone and VST2 in Cubase 14. Despite the age the sounds are incredibly fresh and inspiring (in my opinion) considering also the very small size of the libraries.

Safe nice one for reply, I worked it out on my end anyway,Because I use it in crossgridder I tried it again after not trying it for a while, and it was still hiding behind the gui.but in crossgridder there is a always on top windows setting, I tried it with that off and every popup window came to the front so it fixed it.

After watching some videos by the founders of E-Mu and having lived through the times and the transistions. I think the demise of E-Mu was 2 fold.

    1. The electronic synthesiser market was in constant flux as many new technologies were developed, some sold huge, and some bankrupted companies. E-mu designed intergrated circuit chips to produce unique sounds and capabilities, this is expensive when compared to writing software.

    2. E-Mu was acquired by Creative Labs, the maker of SoundBlaster Audio cards for the windows pc's. In an acquistion, the company buying the other company wants the intellectual property of the company being bought, Creative Labs rolled the tech into their sound cards, and abandoned further developement. E-Mu became a software company as it was cheaper and faster to emulate the intergrated circuits in software than to pay a fab to build them in silicon. Thus Emulator X was born and if it was a huge sucess it probably would have carried on, but the market became saturated with samplers and synths, hardware and software and Creative Labs, shut the company down because thats what management companies do, mismanage their assetts because they get paid more for laying people off, as mad as that might seem to normies.

So E-mu disappeared and Emulator-X was their last big product.

Creative Labs now sells headphones under the E-mu brand, is that a kick in the teeth or what?

Whenever I hear the word E-MU I have positive thoughts. The color of E-MU always appealed to me. NordLead with its brutal red, on the other hand, didn't. Traffic lights and road signs are red - it's a warning color. At some point there was a company where you could buy adhesive film for synthesizers and cover them up.

Rose Tattoo lives up to its name!!! All of them are tattooed, which shocked society in 1987.

Couldn't agree more. While I also, of course, use Kontakt I have used and still use Emu X3. So it's old?? So is my guitar should I dump that too?? It suits my work flow and the sounds are great. It's easy to make custom libs, (.exb's), that load VERY quickly. It's my go to for live performance with my Fishman Triple Play equipped MIDI guitar.
