maybe you need to active it in the settings? Just look there ...

I never had this problem, it always worked, when i installed it.

Thanks for bringing Resonic up! I followed the project early on, bought a support license more than 10 years ago, but never used it because it lacked metadata and database support back then.
Now I checked again and I'm not sure they implemented what I need. Basically I need Soundminer minus a dick company or Basehead minus a game ui. Resonic could be all that if they implemented what they planned decades ago. So, does Resonic scan my soundfiles folder, extract the bwf metadata and create a searchable database of those metadata entries? Somehow it seems the main features I supported the company for a still 'planned':

Most of them are like this. Also, the smaller your sample files are; the longer the scan takes. If you scan 100gb of one-shot samples, it's way more files in that same 175gb. It's the same reason why big Midi file collections take forever to do anything with. The number of file operations the computer has to do for each file does not decrease for each file. Programs like XO do even more "work" to add and categorize each file, so the more features and details a sample manager application offers, the slower the scan process. 3 hours is nothing.

I hear you, you know I do, but you know me, and how some of us have a lot more that we may not need 'daily', but still need around, and having them "managed" or "cataloged" would be real helpful... I don't need all the crap I have 'live' at all times, and have indexes of my offline drives etc available... but unfortunately with the range of certain stuff I have to work on or access, 175GB's wouldn't even be a lot in 2004 for me.... But yeah, if I'm just sticking to one lane or focused on one thing I am doing, yeah, that would be plenty absolutely... :)

Yeah, 175GB's might not even cover one Spitfire library ffs... My Kontakt libraries (and while drives aren't as cheap as they were 2 years ago in terms of SSD's, and now hdd's as that jackass turned everyone to my favorite source etc to get large capacity enterprise grade hdd's etc...

but whatever..even with that not killing my wallet necessarily, I don't think I would feel even comfortable to admit the amount of space my Kontakt libraries inhabit... (and I keep the ones in recent/current use on ssd, and older/lesser used but needed or might be/legacy etc on 7200 spinners)...

Ahh yea thats makes sense, thats why file moves and tranfers of sample packs take so long to process each individual small loop or one shot.

I have ove 3tb of samples myself. all sorts of akai libraries, kontakt, etc. Yeah I dont use them all every day but using things like loopcloud and sononym are great tools for these large libraries. you can search them quickly and find sounds for projects while in a flow.

my drums and bass elements i keep it pretty close to my fave packs and a handfull of sounds. but if i want an obsure synth, key, world sound i have them all here and ready to go! My workflow might not be yours but i like it!
