I have the content placed into the folder where it's supposed to go, yet it's not showing in the application. Am I doing something wrong?

    Padshop 2 Content
Method1 - If you have "Steinberg Library Manager (SLM)" installation
    ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    Run SLM.
Drag & Drop included "Content" folder to SLM GUI.
    Install all.
Method2 - If you dont have SLM (Manual Installation)
    ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    Copy "Content" folder to "%PROGRAMDATA%\Steinberg\".
    ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I tried to drag it onto the GUI but it has an X and won't accept it. I also installed to C:/ProgramData/Steinberg and it still won't show the content inside Pad Shop 2, The library manager says No libraries found. pscontent.jpg pserror.jpg

Thanks that worked, I didn't have it named Content, I changed it to Padshop Content, it worked when I seperated the word and folders.

If the files are in VSTSound format can't you just double click each one and they get automatically installed to the proper folder?

I kin dof have a similar issue with all Steinberg stuff like Padshop, Retrologue, HALion, Groove Agent and so on.

I have a Steinberg Content library folder from a previous install. I copied this to an external drive for backup, and now when I reinstall Steinberg software I replace the default C: location with a SymLink to my backup version.

The content is seen in the above instruments ' browsers and file/patch locators, but the thumbnail for the addo'n libraries do not show up and I have no idea why.

Some are OK to be double clicked and installed but PadShop comes with seperate Content installation so best installing it the normal way like with other Steinbergs VSTi(s) eg. HALion/Groove Agent.
Any others you can normally double click which will open Library Manager and install it as well as being able to Move Libraries to another Drive in Library Manager
Do you have Library Manager installed? and
Do the show up in LM under the relevant [Tab]?
    example:

Yes most you can double-click and it will Open Steinberg Library Manager and install it. Also in LM you can Move Libraries too. However it is best to install the Steinberg VST instruments Libraries following the 'instructions' included with that Content installation (R2R) eg. Drag and Drop (which never works for me) or Copy and Pasting the [Folders] and vstsounds

Yes what I wrote is best if installing r2r then follow r2r instructions for that Steinberg Instrument 'Content' with Copy/Paste (seems best) or Drag & Drop (does not work for me).
When you have Steinberg Library Manager installed and you want to install other .vstsound (Packs/Expansions) when you double click a .vstsound it will bring up the following window in SLM
where you can choose to Install to Default Location / Install to Path (Your Own on Another Drive) etc.
    steinSLM-1.jpg
and double click (to install) could be used for all of these .vstsound expansions including those .vstsound expansions for: Backbone, Groove Agent, HALion, Retrologue, Padshop:

Oh wow thanks, I was unaware you could double click and it would open the library manager hub.

if its a zip file under the bogus file extension, then yes you can just unpack and move it to the correct folders.

you can open the files in a text editor and if you see RAR! or PK! then its either a rar file or a zip file.
This way you dont need the Seinberg content manager.

I dont really remember if Steinberg made it that easy.
