Which version of Sound Quest Midi Quest really works on windows?

    Just to be clear that is not a warez request and thats also not an opportunity to start some ...

    Which Midi Quest version is actual working?

    I found the following releases (and also v10 by AIR, but thats probably way to old):
    11.0.3 by CORE with keymaker
    11.0.3 by AMPED - looks patched
    12.1.2 by R2R - this was unpack from shitLok

    And then i found all those sqz files from version 12 in one file.

    Now are those sqz files working with the v11 version? Or do i really need version 12? (found a package on sister page)

    As i read version 12 does have VST support?

    I want to control some older hardware with it, which doesnt have any other editor.

    A while ago i tested the version by R2R with the Supernova SQZ file, but i couldnt get it working.
    I managed to actual create a vst version of the editor for Ableton, so i had that open, but there was simply no interaction possible with the Editor and the SN. Now im not entirely sure if thats the R2R release problem or if it was a skill issue on my side.

    Would be nice to hear some thoughts!

    On several occasions I needed midiquest for a while and I did get all the above working. But they were never 100% stable for me. So I would never use the vsti versions. Crashing midiquest, sure no prob. Crashing my daw, no thanks.
    Setting it up was always difficult and trial and error.

    i read that R2R versions, cant open those sqz files properly? And as it looks like the FTP was nuked to get the sqz files. Any thoughts about that?

    i couldnt manage to install MS framework offline, bcs the offline installer still needed files form the internet *facepalm*, which is needed for all versions i have listed above.
    imo i think the v11 seems to working the best, i know its old and misses some GUIs for hardware.

    Thanks a lot. I managed to install it and am currently figuring out how it works. Midi is already working, now the Sysex should start.

    What synths do you have that are not in 11? Maybe you could solve those few exceptions on a case-by-case basis. Since they iLok'd v12, we never got a shared Mac version. Buying 12 for only a couple synths isn't that tempting since Sneakz releases solved my NL2 problem.
