I have been testing all these plugs by Oeksound and honestly, I cant tell any difference between what they do and FabFilter 4, Izoptope, some even faster then this like EZMix with AI, what do I mean by this? I think the only reason people desire these plugs is because of ilok protection, as soon as this is eliminated and ppl got them for free I think they would think the prices these are worth are near 50€ if at all.

But what have you found in any of these plugs actually worth paying 200€?

The only uncracked one right now is Bloom, but yes, no one should really want it in this day and age. The thing about Oeksound is that they're kind of "first" and that makes their plugins highly desirable. I personally hate spiff, dislike soothe and kind of don't care about bloom. TBTech is picking them apart one by one in pure Chinese fashion: making it cheaper, at minimum equally good or better.

I make electronic music on Logic Pro X using vst's like Serum, Spire, Ghost, Microtonic and Kick 2/3

The sound sources are pristine types of synthesis with zero unwanted artifacts and If you sound design your elements correctly and make them fit together naturally there is really no need to fix anything afterwards.

Reverb is Raum, Delay is Replika XT.

For mixing and mastering I use Pro-Q 3, Pro C-2, Pro MB and Pro-L 2
Saturn 2, XLN DS-10 and Kazrog KClip are very useful for details.

The only plugin that helps me achieve the finishing touches with ease at the last stage and feels kinda magic is Ursa DSP Boost.

Most of the work is done at the creative stage with fitting ideas, direction and sound design.
    Anything else is very light.

I can't see why I would need a resonance supressor since there is none to begin with.
Now a Sound engineer working with material recorded in real environment or vintage gear probably has a very good reason to use it.

I think back in the days most recordings were dirty or flawed so they needed to be worked on a lot to sound good.
Nowadays we have these super advanced tools, but we are able to record very clean so they already sound nice.

On PC, iLok is not reversed on mac, maybe that's why he's saying this, if not, you just made his day lol

I'm sure Oeksound plugins are very good quality, depends if you are an engineer or a producer/musician.
In the right hands it can surely enhance your sound, but to what extent ?

I've seen the video of the mastering session for a Dua Lipa hit and the guy really just made 2 bumps on a pro-Q 3 and a small tweak on a pro-L 2 preset...

Too much hype on a plugin is a red flag imo

people behind these plugins are committed to spreading false information about them, they comment everywhere under different names, you can tell its the same nerd, same hypothetical claims the plug is doing something when its really doing NOTHING its all visual effects.

What are you talking about? Can you substantiate these claims? I'm interested in the "doing nothing" part, because this should be easily verifiable.

if you do not want to bother with DDMF Plugin Doctor, you can easily use Bertom because it is free: https://www.bertomaudio.com/eq-curve-analyzer.html

People definitely build up hype about plugins which are not k'd and released. "Wanting what you can't have". But just because the hype dies down, it does not mean all of a sudden people stop using them. People recommend using Soothe2 all the time still on here. And like someone said it was released 2 years ago. No developer is going to pay to implement iLok on a plugin that "does nothing". It is too expensive.

you can clearly see the same nerdy descriptions in the comments about the plugins by the developers making exagerated conclusions about the plugins like Sooth2, a dynamic EQ and resonance detection, but they get into things no engineer even thinks of or hears when trying to manage a track in the mix cause lane the track mean nothing until they are in the mix, so its not an engineer making the comments its a nerdy developer adding hypothetical detail ideas about frequencies we cant even hear with the best headphones, some father frequencies claims to be detected are sub harmonic and you need a bass woofer, try testing this plug in a real studio acoustically tunes and you wil know what I mean, it does not sounds bad but it does not sound better then fab eq, baby audio soothe either, its not even hype its deception, most desire what they cant have, ilok mafia want their money, the moment you drop ilok your software is posted online, thanks to ilok lol

so for 200€, I think they can shove it up their rear ends lol

For the 200$ you make mention of, you could get a decent enough PC with an ethernet port; stick Audiogridder on it and your Mac, and then run a good amount of those iLok R2R releases of plugins which we do not have on Mac. It does not need to be a supercomputer, and especially not for many of these plugins which are mostly for mixing purposes.

Yes "ages ago" is correct and now they are old versions. They need updating like many things do.

There is no one size fits all as sure as many people will have preferred plugin choices.
What I can say about soothe and spiff is they work at their best on unsampled real self-recorded acoustic instruments. There are plugins better suited for anything electronica and sampled, so these will likely not shine if this is how you tested them. Some people on this thread have mentioned that there are other developers now making similar and perhaps better products and that is correct. Gulfoss is really good vs Soothe as is any reputable resonance suppressor/enhancer now. Bloom I have not tried, but it is supposed to be like Waves Equator and other master bus balancing/adaptive tone shaping plugins.

P.S - I said real self-recorded samples as working better because 99% of good sample libraries have already EQ'd and compressed many of their files, so a lot of harsh resonances have already been removed.

that is what happens when someone gets a new hammer (plugin), and every wav file has become a nail. They are trying a 30 day iLok demo and lots of plugins are way more nuanced than they or you, are going to really figure out when used in all the wrong spots in 30 days.

I'm on record up there in the thread saying that Oeksound doesn't really matter anymore (and I don't like them), but the gymnastics by the OP are kinda crazy. This is borderline incoherent rambling. The plugins do something (easy verifiable claim), and no, you don't actually need them. There are way too many alternatives that do the same "nothing" OP claims. Like, if $200 is too much for you (and I agree it's a lot of money for a plugin), there are alternatives. SpecCraft is $90 and is hands down better than Soothe. Trinity Shaper is $80. Bloom is just SmartEQ4 with pink fluff. You don't need to make up shit to justify that lol, like, you really don't need it. It's fine to not spend $200 on them. People didn't have them during most of the music history, and they still managed. lmao

They are all great. There are other options nowadays, but they still hold up just fine. Soothe and fab filter are not the same. They CAN yield similar results, but not always. Even with pro q's new spectral mode. TBT's is great, Dove from Acustica is my favorite as far as sound, but its a cpu hungry little @$$h*le.

Spiff does what it does, and it does it well. Subtle or extreme. its fun for sound design, but also great for mixing. I dont always reach for it first, but i still reach for it often enough.

Bloom is whatever. Its good, but nothing really ground breaking. Great for EDM and sound design / OTT type effects on neuro basses and drum breaks etc.

TLDR : They are good plugins, there are also plenty of plugins that do the same, or similar. The winning thing about oeksound plugins for me is the simplicty. Just put it on a track twist a knob and your done. Sure, you can tweak some things or dial it in too.

baby audio does enough of that soothe2 stuff for me, then you have waves stuff, I just cant believe suckers paying $200!, this is all ilok, with out ilok those plugs would not be relevant when you look at apogee, Kush and more way more expensive that do much more but you dont know about them cause expensive industry prices are not popular, see in the same range like Gulfoss maybe but its the same ordeal, they are over priced entry level audio tools., im talking soothe2 as well when you pay $50-›$100 more

This just shows that you're not part of the "real audio world" then.

You can afford an overpriced mac, but you can't afford 2-3 plugins? Perhaps re-examine your priorities.
