i think you can only make win iso's on 2 win machines anyways .1 machine reads and1 machine writes.

This one is good but I think these are post-installation. There's several of them quite good, like Sophia's script.
These scripts can make a great deal but aren't as powerful as pre-modded iso's.

Personally, I wouldn't use this method to create a leaner Windows ISO. It's much easier to use the Schneegans website, have full control and choice over everything, and you simply use a clean Microsoft ISO with the autounattend.xml file in the root of the USB installer. Strips down the Microsoft install a ton and gives you what you want for most general users who don't wan to tinker too much. Much easier solution for the layman compared to CTT (despite me having supported CTT in paying for the .exe version of his Windows Utility tool).

...aaand all the stuff instead of nt lite and the one *not mentioned by xup posted in this thread are not custom OS tools...big difference in making a thing not working in the OS or remove the whole thing from the iso...

I don't really recommend it. It's free unlike NTLite complete but much more tedious and complicated.

 

My thoughts exactly. If it's in the WIM, it has already done its work in specialize phase of installation. 99.99% users who claim to remove telemetry aren't even aware of the binaries talking to Microsoft quietly and continuously in the background. Only thing post installation possible is to remove some Appx packages and tweak some registry, that's not "Lite" but a mockery of lite. But it's not the fault of Atlas team, they got into hot waters with Microsoft for providing customized ISO so they had to change their racing track. And as Microsoft intended, now they are not as effective as when they provided the ISO files.

Anyways, I'm making my custom build as I type this. It's in the last phase.




Now I have to go through 600 MB of tweaks, reg files and script and sort them out which ones I want for new hardware and which ones are applicable for this version of Windows.

Btw, Ghost Spectre lives next door to me (Indonesia), I'll be sure to inform him about you guys brawling over his builds. LOL

100% with you on this too. I just can't understand the paranoia. I'm in full agreement with those who don't trust random builds over the Internet but Jeez what's stopping you from installing it on a vHD / virtual machine and scan it with a cloud based anti-malware that checks against multiple engines?

If somebody is that lazy, they belong with Microsoft and Google. No place here with us.

That's a tiny install at 6.4GB! What is that you have installed? I've been trying to achieve something similar by using an as vanilla as possible ISO but stripped down. I currently use Schneegans website for an autounattend.xml to strip things down, and then I further debloat once install, but can't get anywhere close to 6.4GB!

On the subject of WIM, what I'd love to be able to do is to use a vanilla ISO and be able to strip down, install my minimum requirements, and then create a custom ISO of it with a WIM (or compress further to ESD), but it's all above my head at the moment!

Step 3. Complete the Windows Setup settings. You can set up the language, keyboard and all basic settings for your Ghost Spectre Windows.



Step 4. Click Install Windows 11. Check "I agree everything will be deleted, including files, apps, and settings", and continue.



Step 5. Now, use the USB to create a Ghost Spectre virtual machine on VMware. Follow the screen instructions to install Ghost Spectre Windows 11 24H2 in VMware.
