@macros mk2 : nah youre all good man, you just gotta work on your breathe control and pitch the most; ive heard A LOT worse, its not bad. like i remember one time i was playing in Berlin. my good friend shes a professional DJ that lives out there, she threw like a small party at her place while i was there. so some girl she was cool with and invited was talking to me about some shit, like whatever, she was cute and friendly from our conversation. but then she randomly busted out singing one of my songs to me when i was responding to the person talking to me next to her. i mean like to the max yo; like if she was alone in the car type shit

i couldnt look at her, i was fighting for my life not to laugh at in her face. cause she clearly really liked the song but the butchery was diabolical. it was so cringe and awkward and she was so committed and serious in a way that was hard to watch; but funny as fuck. ive never heard worse singing in my life, idk wtf she thought was gonna happen from that. when she was finished though, everyone around us was quite, like looking in their cups and shit; my DJ friend came up to her and was like, ”hey you gotta go.” lol

so yeah, theres levels too it. i wouldnt say your singing is bad, youre listenable for the most part, i disagree with Lois on relying on melodyne or autotune, its worth training your voice and ear, especially if you WANT to sing, like you seem too. i think its cool your stepping out of your comfort zone though, wasnt expecting art pop; but it has a slight chamber music vibe that matches the artwork. that harp doesnt sound too bad either in tone; but you can tell that someone isnt playing harp by the way its being played if that makes sense, whoever sampled that harp did good though in capturing its tone. nice job tho, definitely worth practicing your singing in your alone time imo, singing just feels good honestly and its a valuable skill, ESPECIALLY if you want to sing, id encourage you to nurture that

You misrepresent me, that's not what I meant. In a particular take that well captures the spirit, captures the vibe, nudging a few notes is fine by me. I would never tell a person not to sharpen their skills and their craft and have always championed working towards perfection. Recording by oneself though to me is different than performing live to an audience. Editing by adding effects and processing such as compression, EQing, aligning a slight misstiming of a percussion part or the tweaking of a vocal after recording the performance is fair game. To me it's drastically different than playing with other musicians where there is chemistry happening as the many become one and there's more of a dance 'tween musicians where the music is necessarily human and alive. When I'm recording alone in a room my object is to magically, with the help of technology, multiply the one into what might eventually encompass and make sound the many.

Always of course sing if you sing, play what you play, and because you have no other choice as you love it to pieces, that is the music you do, you'll hone it and buff it, make it shiney and glow...as much as you can, every day as you go.

I wasn't able to take part in the last contests, although I would have liked to. I guess it's about creating music from pictures.
Somehow that doesn't suit me, maybe it's the adhs.
However, this picture has managed to inspire me. So I'll probably be taking part this time too.:)
