I know this thank you, and that is also generated also on the sister site and not on this forum. As I stated immediately after your quote - " Add to this, I am pretty sure you can do the complaints on the sister site instead of here where it might be more appropriate, because here, no links to the sister site are allowed."
Holy shit what a blast, such a gem I was missing out @dylan63819 you are really enjoying yourself, aren't you? Good lord, you on fire bro... Don't overdo it just in case. Someone may burn you...
@Xupito I don't understand. Do you mean the title is a bit irreverent? I apologize to all the beggars who felt offended. I use the translator a lot, i don't express myself at my best in English. What word do you use to describe people who own Mac, who ask strangers on the Internet to crack $15 plugins for them? (Among the messages of a release for Windows ) Last edited: Jan 14, 2025 at 5:56 AM
Oh i have many times seen dudes that been around here over 10 years beg for mac version and its different people
If one uses a fine melted Swiss Gruyère I too would beg for a then yummy Mac 'n Cheese...but this is in the. Lounge section and not in the dedicated sub-forum we have here entitled "Culinary" which is moderated by King Chubby.
It's just a joke because you have been insistent and some messages were funny. In a good way. No problem I'm gonna be diplomatic for a change. Ehmmm... mmm... oh, I know: people
install tampermonkey. write a script with ChatGPT that when certain words come up remove the comment for you and tada no more annoying post
It is ironic but most Mac users requesting $15 plugins you see are just Windows Refugees; newly converted with their little mini computers. They still have holdover bad habits from when they were PC users, like using $15 plugins. I asked GPT about $15 Mac Audio plugins because I could not think of many, and this is what it replied: "Finding high-quality audio plugins for Mac under $15 is achievable, especially if you explore free options or take advantage of sales and bundles. Here are some recommendations: Valhalla Supermassive A free reverb and delay plugin known for its expansive soundscapes. Compatible with Mac. TAL-Chorus-LX A free, high-quality chorus effect plugin, ideal for adding depth to your sounds. Mac-compatible. Softube Saturation Knob A free, user-friendly saturation plugin that adds warmth and analog character to your tracks. Compatible with Mac. Wider by Polyverse A free stereo widening plugin that enhances the stereo image of your audio without phase issues. Mac-compatible. WoodValvet by Wims Studio A Mac-only plugin available for $9.99 (regularly $50), offering unique sound processing capabilities."
Well, first word I would call them in respect to the rules of the sister site etc, would be "rule breakers", as that isn't allowed, and @omiac and other mods/admins/residents/users over the years have consistently reminded them of that. The other is, I agree with @clone, is that, anecdotally seen anyway, most of those rule breaking REQ's are coming from people with their new lil' mac's etc (and btw, I've used Macs forever, and windows machines, though not as much nearly...., and outside of the initial 'apple tax' (which I agree is a little egregious and steep for things like ram and drive space on purchase without question etc)... well I regret the purchase of maybe one over all that time... I've ridden some of my machines for a decade+ (4,1's, 5'1's), and while I have recently entered the m series, they smoke over any machine I've used... and it honestly wasn't that expensive getting an Apple official refurb at a great price etc... and whatever... older machines are either still in use as legacy machines, and/or repurposed for things from Plex servers to whatever else... They have legs. And I'm not a rich man, and I budget myself, and have been charged with budgeting acquisitions of Macs for music production for myself and others and whatnot for over 30 years... It's been ok. And gotten it done. So, I think any issue with the post title or whatever is the continued tired trope of Mac owners eating their avocado toast in their new Prius's while waiting at the drive through at Starbucks for a $12 coffee or something..... and it isn't like that. But if you ask in a post on the sister site, you are a gonna get a slap down from those that be, as should, as against the rules. I see enough windows requests on Mac threads that it goes both ways. I could care less what someone uses to get to where they want sonically, as it's a tool. And again, I'll use anything.... but you can relax about it, as it's taken care by staff and residents/users, perhaps should be adjudicated a little more harshly if they are recidivists, but not my place to say. (now excuse me while I get in my limo to go pick up my new m4 max (full compliment of ram/4tb ssd of course), while my older systems are diligently downloading many $15 plugins made by some small independent dev that I don't care to support, as hell, those things add up right? And how can I afford my steak and lobster dinners and my new 8tb thunderbolt ssd's and new system if I have to pay people like that ...sheesh...) /s
I am so puzzled and pissed at reading what I see here! People, musicians no less, talking about following the rules! When did musicians become the rule followers? Especially when it comes to little nit-picky nonsense that in the overall scheme of things is meaningless?? I mean, this isn't children starving or people dying in a war somewhere. Musicians have always been the rule breakers. That's what makes for great creativity, not sitting around and worrying about some nonsensical rules that you've been trained to follow like Pavlovian dogs hoping to get a treat in return. The 'treat' is in your downloads file, not in bitching about Mac comments. Let me make something clear. I'm not a Mac person. I've never owned a Mac. I have no plan or intention of EVER owning a Mac. But at the same time I don't give a flying F about such comments at sister site.... that's what freaking scroll wheels were invented for. Think about it folks, that's all you need to do. Be an adult, ignore it, scroll past it, and then enjoy your freaking day Absent that approach, all you're doing is feeding some troll who sees that they get your goat. They're likely enjoying the attention you regularly give them. One of the amazing things about this supposed "issue" is that people take up more comment space moaning and groaning over the 'Mac Please' comments than the people who actually make those comments in the first place. Examine it for yourself... sometimes 4 or more times the space making a big deal out of ZERO. I'm convinced half of these 'Mac Please' people are just trolling anyway, because they like the attention you give them for it. And like fools, people here and at sister site give 'em plenty of attention. You just keep feeding that which you persist in complaining about. One last thought.... a supposed rule that gets broken daily, day in and day out next door, is in reality, no rule at all. It's a joke, nothing more. When no one that's breaking that rule pays attention to the rule in the first place, in reality the rule does not actually exist. You'd think, after years of watching the same rule broken every single day next door, followed by the same ridiculous Mod comments, and then followed by the same people who want to moan and groan all about it, that people here would finally recognize the rule itself is faulty... it just doesn't work. It doesn't stop anyone next door. Smart people would recognize that it's time to change the approach. My vote? Learn to be a grown up and just ignore it. That's the real solution here. Use your damn scroll wheel, stop making a stink over it, and worry more about creating your music instead! Last edited: Jan 15, 2025 at 2:46 AM
+I changed the title for the more delicate hearts+ @clone A while ago i saw a Macplease begging for a kickstart. Value: 14€/16$ @sisyphus The point is not to own the Mac.. If it were the other way around i would have written: Beggars from Windows @robie You are not entirely wrong. This is just a first world "problem".. thinking like this we might as well shut down the internet! Last edited: Jan 15, 2025 at 4:19 AM
I don't even think about it. After the dire future predicted by @Radio, i don't have the courage to use AI anymore..
Here's a picture from @Xupito, who avoids a controversy with a clever move : Last edited: Jan 15, 2025 at 4:20 AM
Ok, robie, the lads in the band have decided to find another drummer as it has all become a bit of a bother to have you in the outfit. When you start banging away in 3/4 when ths song is in 17/8 really messes with the groove when you arbitrarily slip into it in the middle of a song like in the last gig. Other things like literally taking a piss on Melissa's head during her 16 bar acapella and then doing super hard hitting drum rolls over her lyrics, or stopping playing in the middle of a chorus is totally unacceptable. The rule of thumb is to play for the song but you have decided to be a gangsta and for whatever reason are more focused on some avant-garde bullshit not in context of the wishes of the band. We hope for you all the luck in your endeavors wherever they may lead you. Eloy Casagrande will be filling in, and though we all recognize your own incredible talent, the band has decided to go with someone willing, who shares our musical vision going forward with our exciting new project. Adios, Amigo, via con Dios! Signed, Zack Wylde, Johnny Christ and Melissa Bonny Last edited: Jan 15, 2025 at 6:05 AM
People complaining because they see requests from Mac guys, meanwhile @omiac deleting 39th request of the day and showing the offenders the rules the 39th time-
OMG I mean, I knew you have potential for jokes, but... why am I always the first one to be meme'd??? Actually, don't answer guys... make it a rhetorical question...
