Pro Tools like it or not, its Editing window is still very very easy to use and logical, Mixing audio on Pro Tools is very easy. I've used all Daws for the most part. Studio One 4 was very hard for me to leave and go to any other version of it because of its simplicity. Reaper is the Jack of Many trades but to me a master of none. I like Reaper but all of those menus is very distracting from the workflow. Cubase has always been well rounded. The older versions of it like Cubase 5 and Nuendo 5 were very good. I loved Cakewalk Sonar before it became bloated. I still use Fruity Loops 3 on every single one of my Pc builds, its just dead ass simple and straight to the point even though it doesn't host many new plugins. doesn't matter, the work flow is like vintage hardware, easy as hell to use. I will choose simplicity over bloat any day. New Daws feel bloated with too many functions and a master of none.

Some say Reaper. I'm sure it's flexible in some ways but since it has no included synths, you depend on VSTi. And since you do, I would honestly think Reaper is a long-since highly developed apparatus for modulating and controlling any VSTi parameter with extreme precision and ease? Right? Because anything else would be pure, utter madness. A DAW that depends on VSTis but you can't modulate shit, or if it's clunky, tedious and difficult, who would use that :) Right? Sell it to me :)

Better yet, show me a video that explains to me, that SHOWS me exactly how easy, brilliant and ingenious that process is.

I've owned that one about as long as my Jungle Warfare 1 CD and I STILL pull shit from it to this day. Dude created some awesome patches in my XV-3080 (and a bunch of old Roland machines) too. Eric is a legend plain and simple hah.

If Radio is Foster he's a more disciplined personality. He's made useful comments. But I do catch little Fosterisms here and there. Jury is out.

I remember back in the day . . . I would never buy an all-in-one stereo system. I bought the components I needed. As convenient as a DAW is . . . . I used to have a great sequencer (MOTU Performer, Vision, Roland MC-500), Sampler (Roland S-550-, S760, Emu, Akai), Synth, Guitar, Bass, Drum Machine, Mic, FX unit. Forget what I'm saying . . . a DAW is more convenient. LOL.

For a single daw to take over the market, everyone will have to have the same preference! What's the chances of that happening?

People's preferences are important when they know what they are doing. But most people do not know. My advice to DAW makers is to act like a dictator and not let the users do whatever they want. This can be done by closing many features in the DAW. I am not against the free use of facilities, but there is no better solution for people who do not know what they are doing. The only condition is that the DAW creators themselves know how to create a good work of art and can provide the necessary guidance. But if neither the creators know the necessary conditions for the production of the artwork nor the users have much knowledge, in this case there will be many productions and these productions will not have any useful effect on the listeners.:)

Oh dear silly sally fTRoLLster, always looking some controversy...

You constantly presume the general incompetence of users, spout the nonsense that restricting features would help inexperienced users, and suggest the ridiculous notion that DAW creators should know how to make "good works of art"?!?! (especially when what’s "good" for you isn’t the same as what’s good for me, for example).

Something for you to reflect on: creativity flourishes in freedom (not just that post-complexity crap, but the ongoing hybridization of current genres and styles); errors are part of the learning process (see the concept of serendipity, for example... including working with notes, whether "right," "wrong," or whatever they may be); tools should offer possibilities (which is exactly what Reaper does better than most other DAWs currently available); and last, your statement about what is "useful" is extremely subjective (especially since we’ve never seen or heard any examples of what you pedantically advocate, though the context of your comments and your history make it clear enough).

The most obvious comment you could’ve made (but didn’t!!!) is that DAW developers should invest in tutorials, courses, and clear, objective documentation to help users master their tools. Crystal clear (something that Reaper, through Kenny Gioia tutorials, has been doing for quite some time now).

Wishing you a Happy New Year, and may it, along with the advance of maturity, bring you better comments and a broader worldview.

Wow, it can happen so quickly, baseless accusations, stupid come-ons, defamation, what they are delivering here is very socially questionable.

@Xupito Oh my god.. After so many years in FL studio, i just read in the manual that you can also create your own skins in fruity dance! These are the things that will make all other DAW obsolete dear @Incontro..
